Detroit

You can’t go to Michigan without visiting Detroit; there is a lot to see there. The city is full of history and is definitely something to put on the places to visit in Michigan. Soo Locks

Even though it is a bit of drive, you need to put the Soo Locks that are located in Sault Ste. Marie on the list of places to visit in Michigan. The Locks are something really unique and they actually connect Lake Superior to Lake Huron. The Locks had to be built because there was a huge 21 foot drop that was the only way to get between the lakes, and because of that, none of the boats could go there. Hell

Yes, you can actually travel to Hell in Michigan. There are very unique places to visit in Michigan and Hell is one of those. The great thing is, with the climate in Michigan, Hell really isn’t that hot and while it is entertaining to travel to Hell and say you’ve been to Hell and back; don’t expect to get hit by a tropical heat wave. Binder Park Zoo

The Binder Park Zoo, which is located near Battle Creek is a great place to visit. This is one of the more unique places to visit Michigan and this is a great zoo. This zoo has a Wild Africa exhibit and children and adults alike can see giraffes, goats, llamas, and many other unique animals. Mackinaw Island

Probably the most popular destination and one of the most popular places to visit in Michigan is Mackinaw Island. Mackinaw Island is known for a few things, you are going to find that there is all kinds of great fudge there that you can eat and buy. The other great thing with these places to travel in Michigan is that you have to get there by a ferry, and no cars are allowed on the island. So, you can rent a bike or use a horse drawn carriage to get around the island in style, you’ll love the island when you go out there.

Paul Bunyan Festival
