10 Popsicle Stick Crafts for Kids

Doing crafts is so much fun. They are great for children to learn about different textures. Popsicle craft sticks can make a very good craft. Here are some easy popsicle crafts to try.

1. Picture Frame: Make a picture frame to put on your fridge or on the wall.
What you will need:
-8 popsicle sticks
- Craft Glue
Glue your picture to the cardstock and cut off excess cardstock leaving about two 3 inches on each side to glue the popsicle sticks onto. Glue two popsicle sticks on each side of the cardstock. Color the sticks and add stickers. Let it dry overnight. If you want to put the picture on your fridge, add a magnet on the back of the cardstock. If you want to hang it, glue a piece of yarn on the two top edges of the frame.

2. Door Hanger: Add charm to your little one’s room with a personalized, handmade door hanger.
What you will need:
-5 large popsicle sticks
-2 regular popsicle sticks
-Craft Glue
-Paint or markers
-Foam pieces
Take the two regular sticks and place them horizontally. Take the large sticks and glue them side by side onto the regular sticks starting about an inch in. Add glue in between each stick as well. Let them dry and then paint or color the sticks. From the foam pieces, cut out your child’s name and glue them to the colored sticks. Add stickers. Tie a long piece of yarn tightly around the top horizontal popsicle stick.

3. Jewelry Box: Make a beautiful handmade gift for mother’s day for mom or grandma.
What you will need:
-1 package of popsicle sticks
-3 buttons
Lay 6 or 7 popsicle sticks down. Glue four more popsicle sticks on top. Keep gluing sticks on top until you get it to the height you want. Add a little bit of glue between each stick on the bottom layer. To make the lid, lay 6 or 7 sticks down touching each other and place some glue in between each one. Glue the buttons on top of each other on the center of the lid. Let it dry and paint it a color of your choice.

4. Recipe Card Holder: Keep all your recipes in a safe spot with a handmade recipe card holder.
What you will need:
-1 package craft sticks
-craft glue
-Foam pieces
Lay 6 craft sticks horizontally. Glue all the sticks together. Stack 6 sticks on each side and glue them all together and glue them to the base. Cut the word recipe out of the foam letters and glue it to the front of the box.

5. Tea light Lantern: This is a beautiful project to make. Make this lantern to put on the porch on warm summer nights for some light or put it on the dinner table.
What you will need:
-16 popsicle sticks
-1 roll of wax paper
-small wooden decorative pieces
-votive candle and holder
Cut a piece of wax paper 24 inches long. Starting about half an inch in at the top glue 4 sticks to make a square. Repeat this three times gluing the sticks directly on top of the last. Cut the excess wax paper off leaving half an inch on each side. Fold the squares to make a box and glue the two tabs of wax paper together. Add wooden decorative pieces in your own design to the 4 sides. Place lantern on table and place a teal light and holder inside.

6. Pencil Holder: Liven up your desk with a handmade pencil holder.
What you will need:
-12 large popsicle sticks
-Glue Gun
-Empty soup can
-Markers or paint
Paint or color the sticks. Use the glue gun to glue the sticks all the way around the can. Let it dry and then add stickers.

7. Christmas Tree Ornament: Add a new ornament to the tree this year. This handmade ornament will look great on the tree.
What you will need:
-1 jumbo craft stick
-4 regular craft sticks
-brown marker or paint
-green marker or paint
-craft glue
-Colored sequins
Paint the jumbo stick brown. Paint two of the craft sticks green and glue them to the stick starting at the bottom 1 inch up and apart from each other. Paint another stick green and cut it in half. Glue both halves onto the large stick. Paint the last stick and cut it into three pieces. Glue the last pieces onto the large stick. Glue a bunch of sequins onto the sticks. Tie a piece of yarn around the top of the large stick and hang on your tree.

8. American Flag: Here is a great craft for 4th of July.
What you will need:
-13 regular sticks
-1 Large stick
-White Cardstock
-Red and white paint
-Blue Construction paper
Paint 7 of the sticks red and the other 6 white. Glue them onto the cardstocks alternating between red and white. Cut of the excess cardstock. In the top left hand corner, add a 3 inch square of blue construction paper. Draw white stars onto the blue cardstock. Glue the large popsicle stick onto the back of the cardstock.

9. Popsicle Snowmen: This is a cute craft for winter or Christmas time.
What you will need:
-Regular sticks
-Black felt
-Green felt
-Orange felt
-3 Assorted buttons
- Black Marker
-White Paint
-Googly eyes
-piece of ribbon
Paint the sticks white. Glue two googly eyes onto the stick. Cut a tiny small triangle out of orange felt and glue it as the nose. Make a smile with a black marker making small dots as the mouth. Make a top hat out of black felt and glue to the top. Cut a long, thin rectangle out of the green felt and wrap it around under the mouth to make a scarf and glue it. Under the scarf, add the three buttons. Make a small hole in the top of the hat and pull the piece of ribbon through and tie it. Hang on your tree as a cute new ornament.

10. Popsicle Star: This is a very easy craft for young kids to make.
What you will need:
-5 sticks
-Yellow paint
Pain the sticks yellow. Take two sticks and glue them in an upside down “V” shape. At the bottom of the sticks, glue two more sticks crossing each other. Take the last stick and glue it to the crossed sticks going horizontally. Add glitter to make the star glimmer.
