Originally opened in 1948; In N’ Out Burger has the same business philosophy today; "Give customers the freshest, highest quality foods you can buy and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling clean environment." The Menu: Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double- Double, French Fries, Shakes and sodas. The original Tommy’s opened on the corner of Beverly Boulevard and Rampart in Los Angeles in 1946. What was different about these burgers was that the owner was serving them topped with chili. Opened in 2003, The Counter gives you a burger the way you want it. When you are seated, you are given a clipboard with a list of all available ingredients. The Habit (Several locations throughout California)
Brent Reichard went to work for the Habit Burger Grill in Santa Barbara, California in 1969, when he was just 16 years old. He loved it so much that four years later, Brent and his brother Bruce bought the Habit with money borrowed from their mother. Making several changes, they ‘rebuilt’ the Habit and included items such as custom made buns from a local bakery. They also introduced the ‘charbroiler’ (a piece of kitchen equipment that provides a delicious smoky flavor in everything grilled over its open flame) to their customers.
