Help for a Healthier You
It's that time again, the time when most people resolve to eat healthier and get in shape. But, making a resolution and keeping it are two different things. Too many folks find themselves breaking their resolutions to eat healthier on January 2nd, and then they simply give-up. If you are one of these people, don't despair, there is help! Here are ten websites than can assist and provide encouragement during your journey to healthier eating.
10 Top Websites for Healthy Eating
When you navigate to this page you will notice a tab for 'Healthy living,' in this section you will find several articles regarding health and fitness. From foods to exercise, if it has to do with health, you will find it. In addition to the articles there are additional tabs for specific information on 'Fitness,' 'Health,' 'Healthy Habits,' and 'Travel.' There's also a section called "Cooking Light's 12 Healthy Habits Program" and here you can find tips and recipes to aid in your healthy lifestyle endeavor. The thing I did not care for were the pop-up ads each time I clicked on a tab.
Here you will find the following sections to assist with a healthy lifestyle; 'Quick Healthy Recipes,' 'Diet & Nutrition,' 'Healthy Cooking,' 'Diet Challenge,' and 'Food & Health News.' Articles such as "28 Days to a Slimmer You," "10 Tips to Make Losing Weight Easier" and "Our Best Diet Recipes" provide assistance and motivation. Also, a featured piece called "Dinner Tonight - Cheddar-Stuffed Mini Meatloaves with Chipotle Glaze" sounds delicious, if it is as good as it sounds, this may be one of my "go to" sites for healthy meal ideas.
This site is "For people who love to eat" and provides information on all things food. The recipe and menu section is enormous with everything from quick and easy dishes to gourmet meals and lots more. There are also several articles and guides with fun topics like "Around the World in 80 Dishes," and "The epi-log blog." This section is also where you will find the section on "Healthy Cooking" with loads of recipes and tips to help you keep all those weight loss New Year's resolutions. Epicurious.com is an excellent site for help with healthy eating.
Type the word "Healthy" in the search box and you will get several recipes to help keep you on the path of healthy eating. In addition, on the days when you feel like being a bit naughty, you will find delicious recipes for dishes like onion rings, Creamy Chicken Florentine, and rich desserts. In addition to recipes and menus, you can find sections on tools and tips, holidays, and "The Buzz."

This webpage by Shape Magazine provides helpful information about fitness, healthy eating, weight loss, lifestyle, celebrities and bride. One thing I didn't care for were the advertising pop-ups, but they were easily closed and only a minor nescience. The weight loss section includes "What's Hot in Weight Loss" with interesting articles such as "Are You Eating Too Many Healthy Fats?;" "The 6 Stages of Weight-Loss Grief;" "30 Easy Ways to Burn 100+ Calories;" "The Newest Miracle Food for Weight Loss;" and the "Top 50 Winter Foods for Weight Loss." You can also read inspirational weight loss success stories and how people are keeping the weight off.

This webpage from the very popular cable Food Network channel supplies the recipes from all their shows. There is a section on "Healthy Eating," which includes menus, meal makeovers, special diets, international, features, and a blog. Do you love chicken? This webpage includes healthy recipes for "Chicken, 22 Ways." You will find so much information on healthy eating, including "Good-For-You-Appetizers," soups and stews, and much, much more! One of the unique benefits of this website is that you can click-on your favorite Food Network celebrity and view several of their top recipes.
Not to be confused with "Food Network," this website offers recipes, cookbooks, menus, community and shopping. Healthy recipes are included under the "Popular Categories" section and here you will find sub-categories for "Lighten-Up," "Fast and Easy," and "Smart Choices." In addition, there are topics such as "Slimmed-Down Dinners," "Smarter Sides," "Better-for-you Breakfasts," "Just Desserts," "Make it Low Fat," "Healthy Around the World," and a "Low Fat Cooking Forum." This website claims to have over 400,000 recipes.
You can find information on food and health such as "Foods That Fight Cholesterol," "12 Ways to Never Get Diabetes," "Surprising Pain Triggers," "Heart-Healthy Comfort Food" and "Make Your Resolutions Stick." The sections include 'Health,' 'Weight Loss,' 'Fitness,' 'Food,' 'Beauty,' and shopping. As with some of the other websites, it is frustrating to get full page pop-ups when trying to navigate to other sections. The weight loss page includes help with belly fat and how to eat to lose weight.

Food fit is for "Good Food, Good Energy, For Life." In the healthy eating section you can find 'Food Guides,' and the current topic is "Fall Fruits and Vegetables." The 'Nutrition Smarts' guide has information on Diet and Cholesterol, while the 'Food and Family' section provides help with family dinners. There are also food fit tips and an 'Ask the Expert' section where you can get your questions answered by a Nutritionist. To get more information, you can sign-up to be a member and/or sign-up for their free newsletter.
Health.com provides "Vital Information with a Human Touch." The categories include 'Home Health A-Z,' 'Healthy Living,' 'Weight Loss,' and 'Eating,' 'Recipes,' and 'Cold + Flu Prevention.' This site includes health information from "The Top Headlines" and "Around the Web," plus "Dieting Advice." Do you need to find the right weight loss plan, help with maintaining weight loss, or getting motivated? You can find all that and more here.
