10 Foam Crafts for Kids

Are you looking for new craft ideas for your kids? With foam, the crafts are endless. Here are 10 great, easy crafts you can make with foam.

1. Sports Coasters: Make all your favorites sports into coasters to use during the game. Makes a great father’s day gift for Dad.
What you will need:
-1white foam pieces
-2 brown foam pieces
-1 orange foam piece
-Red fine tip marker
-White fine tip marker
-Black fine tip marker
Take one piece of white foam and cut four circles from it. Using the red marker, draw the lines of a baseball onto all circles. Take both pieces of brown foam and cut 4 footballs. Use the white marker to draw a line down the middle of all the balls to look like a football. Take the orange piece and cut four circles. Use the black marker to draw the lines of a basketball onto all four circles. Take the last piece of white foam and cut four circles.

2. Tub Toys: Make inexpensive toys for your little ones to play with in the tub.
What you will need:
-Package of thick foam
-Fine tip marker
On the pieces of foam, draw different shapes, letters and numbers, and animals. Cut out the shapes and put them in the tub. They will stick to the walls when they are wet.

3. Door Hanger: Personalize your child’s room with a door hanger with their name on it.
What you will need:
-Assorted Colors of foam
-Craft Glue
Cut a 4”X8” piece of your child’s favorite color in foam. About an inch down, cut out a hole just big enough to fit over the doorknob. From the other pieces of foam cut out your child’s name and their favorite things, such as flowers, butterflies, sports items and fire trucks. Glue them all to the door hanger and let it dry.

4. Mouse pad: Decorate your desktop computer with a custom shaped mouse pad.
What you will need:
-1 Foam Piece
Cut out a unique shape out of foam, such as a flower, heart or favorite animal. Decorate the shape or write your name with markers.
5. Photo Ornament: Give this as a Christmas gift or hang on your own tree.
What you will need:
-Red or Green piece of foam
-Craft Glue
-Hole Punch
Cut two exact circles out of the piece of foam. In the first piece cut a 2X2 square in the middle. Glue your picture onto the square. Glue the second circle on the bottom of the first, covering the back of the picture. Punch a hole at the top of both pieces and put the piece of ribbon through and tie.

6. Bookmark: Never lose your spot again with these cute handmade bookmarks. They make a great handmade gift for your child to give.
What you will Need:
-Assorted colors of felt
-Hole Punch
-Craft Glue
Cut a piece of foam 1.5”X6.5”. Punch a hole in the top and put the piece of ribbon through the top. Cut pieces of foam out of your child’s favorite shapes and glue onto bookmark or decorate with stickers.

7. Heart Hanging Frame: Hang this project on your wall to add a little charm.
What you will need:
-1 piece red foam
-1 piece white foam
-1 piece pink foam
-3 pictures
-hole punch
-craft glue
Cut six equal hearts out of the foam: two red, two white, and two pink. Take one red, one white, and one pink heart and cut a 2X2 square in the middle of each. Glue your pictures too the back of each heart. Take the second heart of each color and glue it onto the back the first heart covering the picture. Once the hearts are dry, punch a hole at the very top of the first heart and pull a ribbon through and tie. Punch a hole at the bottom of the first heart and the top of the second heart and attach together with another piece of ribbon. Repeat this for the third heart as well.

8. Foam Stamps: This is an easy craft and will provide entertainment for the kids on rainy days.
What you will need:
-Square Wooden Blocks
-3 Assorted Foam Pieces
-Craft Glue
-Ink Pad
Cut out different shapes from the pieces of foam. Glue the shapes to the wooden blocks. Dip Once they are dry, try them out. Stamp the stamps into the ink pad and then decorate paper with your new stamps.

9. Foam Crown: Your little prince or princess will love pretend playing with their very own crown.
What you will need:
-2 pink or blue foam pieces
-stick on jewels
Take both pieces of foam and lay them the wide way. Half way down both pieces draw a line straight across. Two inches under the first line, make another line. Cut across the second line and discard excess foam. Make attached upside down “V’s” across both sheets. Cut out the excess between the upside down “V’s”. Staple both ends of both pieces together. Add jewels all around the crown.

10. Garden Sticks: Get your kids excited about gardening by making fun sticks to label everything in your garden.
What you will need:
-Assorted colors of foam
-Craft glue
-Craft sticks
Start by taking the assorted colors and cutting out shapes such as blueberries, tomatoes, raspberries, and cucumbers. Also label your flowers by cutting out roses and tulips. Glue the foam cutouts to the craft sticks. Let them dry and place them in your garden so you always know what is growing where.
