15 Prompts to Spark Creativity

By Edited Jul 9, 2015 0 0

Free writing is a great way to get in touch with fictional possibilities, and to explore your creative side. While most people enjoy writing creatively, either for fun or profit, they need to practice continually so they can improve their writing. Often when sitting down at your computer, or the blank page there could be lots of ideas in your head ready to be used, but other times you are not so lucky. Writer's block can strike any writer when they least expect it.

Consider how much easier life would be if you had ideas readily available to you at all times. Things could be this easy if you have a list of writing prompts handy to you when you begin to write. A useful list of story starters can be all you need to end writer's block for good.

Writing exercises are designed to be used over and over - always generating a different result. Or they can be modified or adapted to prompt new themes and ideas. One of the fun things about using story starters as creative writing prompts is that you can be as outrageous or as sensible as you like. The prompts are merely a way to pump your creative muscles into action and get the ideas going.

Copy the start of the sentence and write it down. Keep your pen moving as you write without inhibition for the next three hundred words. Writing the first things that pop into your head helps you to let go and see where your imagination takes you. If you save these creative writing prompts and keep them somewhere handy you will always be ready to write creatively!

So now all you need to do is chose from the list to get started!
