25 Inexpensive Gifts for Men

There are lots of inexpensive gifts for men which will work great for Christmas presents, or for other holidays, birthdays, or even Valentine’s Day.  Most of the ones listed here are under 20 dollars, with several of them actually coming in at under 10 dollars and some are actually going to be free to make or give out.  If your budget is tight and your almost completely broke, some of these ideas are sure to be a good fit for the man in your life.

While this list isn’t intended to be exhaustive, it should give you a good idea of some of the items your boyfriend, son, nephew, or husband would like to receive.

Hand Tool Set:  Around Christmastime, you will find all kinds of hand tool sets priced very cheap, often for under 10 dollars.  Search and big box department stores and home improvement stores for the best deals and shop the sales aggressively.

Coffee Mugs with Coffee:  You can find coffee mugs at the dollar store and a very small bag of coffee can be purchased for $3 - $4, so it’s possible to put this entire gift together for a man for under 5 dollars.  Your father will probably like this one.

Multi-Tool:  You can find them at all kinds of price ranges.  Some are very expensive, but you can find off brands for well under 15 dollars, so it’s a good, cheap gift idea for men.  Most guys can put something like this to use, so it’s a very practical idea.

Jackknife:  The outdoorsy type will probably like a good jackknife, especially one with a belt holder.  They are not expensive at all, so it won’t break your budget.

T-Shirts:  You can find funny T-shirts online for $5 if you search around for them.  They are a very inexpensive option for someone who seems to have just about everything already.

Heat and Eat Food:  Make up a batch of your famous chili or soup, or put together some homemade TV dinners with real food in them, which can just be microwaved and eaten.  It’s a practical gift idea for any man.  A man with a full belly is generally a very happy man.

A Big Meal:  Cook up a large meal with the food you already have around the kitchen and this one won’t cost you a penny out of pocket.  The man in your life will probably enjoy just spending the time with you just as much as the meal itself.

Gift Cards:  You can find them in almost any amount for virtually every store on the planet.   If you are super stumped or looking for a last minute gift idea, there’s nothing wrong with gift cards.  They can be inexpensive, since you control the amount put onto them.

Movie Theater Tickets:  You can buy two tickets for around 20 dollars, so this one won’t cost too much.  Your guy friend can spring for his own popcorn and soda while he’s there.

Cheap Power Tools:  Around the holiday, you can find very inexpensive power tools.  Look at home improvement and hardware stores, along with big box retailers for specials or clearance sales to save even more money.  Don’t forget to look online for good deals.

Winter Gloves and Hat:  If you live in a cold weather climate, a hat and gloves set will be very practical and is sure to be well appreciated by your father or boyfriend. 

Fishing Baits:  You can find these at cheap rates, so you will be able to pick up a few of them for anyone who enjoys fishing and the great outdoors.  Many guys will like something like this.

Tackle Box:  They are not that expensive, so you can find them at reasonable prices.  Since many guys like to fish, another tackle box can help him to keep them all organized and tangle free.

Toolbox:  Every guy can use a toolbox for something, even if it’s for storing hardware and not tools.  They are pretty cheap to buy and can be found at all kinds of different stores.

Survival Kit: This one can be purchased or can be homemade.  Any outdoorsman can use a small survival kit.  If your guy like to hunt, fish, hike, or even ride ATV’s on the trail, this one will probably be a winner.

Electronic Gadgets:  Around the holidays, in November and December, you will find all kinds of cheap electronic gadgets which are sure to be a hit with almost any male.

Homemade Coupons:  You can make up a free coupon for a massage or even for a private rendezvous with your man.  He’ll probably cash it in the very day he gets it.  Don’t be fooled, ladies, even the manliest man in your life wants to fell loved and wanted at times.

Candy:  Who wouldn’t like some candy to snack on from time to time?  You can put together a nice little collection in a mug or a basket and put it all together for less than 15 dollars.

Neck Ties:  If your guy has to dress up for work, a neck tie really isn’t such a bad idea.  They can be purchased at reasonable price, even for silk neck ties.

Toiletries:  Shaving cream, razors, shampoo, and other items can be purchased and put into a care basket.  This could be a really good idea for a guy who travels a lot.

Magazine Subscription:  What does he like to do?  No matter what it is, there’s probably a magazine to suit his hobbies.

Books:  If your guy likes to read, pick him up a hardcover book from one of his favorite authors.  They are not that expensive and you can compare prices online.

Warm Socks:  In cold weather climates, this is a very practical idea.  Good wool socks are a staple for any outdoorsman in cold weather climates.

Homemade Greeting Cards:  You can make your own homemade greeting card and give it to the man in your life.  It can be as funny, plain, or serious as you want, so you have plenty of options.

Gag Gifts:  There are too many different things to include in this article, from whoopee cushions to over the hill toilet paper.  This is a really good way to get inexpensive gifts for men and not look like a cheapskate.
