One of the most explored hobbies is photography and it needs talent, creativity and a good camera in order to succeed in this field. The 35mm camera is a good example of a reliable camera wherein it can be used to take still pictures and movie scenes. The 35mm camera has always been very marketable since it was launched in 1934.

The dimension of the film of the camera is measured at 24x56mm with the frames 2mm apart from each other. The 35mm camera's film is available in 12, 24 and 36 roll length exposures, and the most preferred among them is the 36 exposure film. There are also those that use the 15, 10, 6 and 8 film exposures, but usually on disposable cameras and seldom are they being used.

The American Tourist Multiple was the pioneer among the still cameras that uses 35mm film and was introduced in the year 1913. This still camera was very expensive since it didn't have any competitors yet. Another still camera came out in 1925, and it was known as the Leica 35mm camera. It was made in Germany and has made a name for itself in the market. It has gained popularity because it came in very handy and its lens and quality was so superb. This German-made camera has conquered the world of photography and was preferred by both professional and amateur photographers. The Leica made them love their craft even more.

Following Leica was the Kodak Retina 35mm camera, which was also made from Germany. It was launched in the year 1934 by Kodak Company. The next to have caught the attention of enthusiasts was the Nikon F SLR by Nikon in the 1960's. Nikon introduced the Single Lens Reflex System, which has made photography one of the most loved hobbies and professions. This still camera has an automatic function and possesses added features like the viewfinder and a screen that allows one to focus perfectly on its subject.

The 35mm camera was briefly threatened by the rise of digital cameras, but the 35mm camera is once more making a scene in the market. Still cameras still have an advantage when it comes to quality and are also very competitive in terms of its size. Companies, such as Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Kodak, Olympus and Ilford, still continue making still cameras and films. Digital cameras will not take over the still cameras that photographers love because of the quality and satisfaction that they bring.
