3 Easy Children's Christmas Craft Ideas

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Christmas craft projects can be a simple one using items from around the house or a more elaborate design with specialty items purchased for a particular pattern. Here are 3 easy to make Christmas projects to do with children in mind.

Holly and Berry Ornaments
You will need green felt, 3 small red buttons, thin ribbon, red or green thread and hot glue gun. Cut out holly shaped leaves from green felt about 3 inches long. Glue the leaves together at one corner, making a V shape. Glue the 3 small red buttons on the leaves where they touch. Make a little bow with the ribbon and glue it on the leaves just under the buttons. Use the red or green thread to make a loop to hang it on your tree.

Handprint Wreath
You will need green construction paper, red ribbon, pencil, scissors, a paper clip, white glue and hot glue gun and glitter. Trace the child's hand print on the green construction paper 10 times and cut out with scissors. Arrange the hand prints in a circle with the wrists touching to form the wreath, then hot glue them together. Make a bow out of the red ribbon and hot glue it to the bottom of the wreath. Decorate with white glue and glitter. Hot glue the paper clip to the back at the top for hanging.

Pine Cone Christmas Tree.
You will need one large pine cone (try to pick one that stands upright), glitter, small cotton balls, white glue and hot glue gun, dental floss and a needle, small beads and a small bow or star for the top. First, hot glue the cotton balls around the bottom of the pine cone. They will help hold it upright and steady, while looking like snow. Dot all the tips of the pine cone with white glue and sprinkle with glitter. Cut about 1 1/2 feet of dental floss, tie a bead on one end to keep the rest from falling off and string beads onto the floss using the needle. When enough beads have been strung to wrap around the pine cone several times like garland, tie a knot and apply some white glue to the knot to keep it secure. Wrap garland around pine cone and dot with hot glue in several spots to hold in place. Glue the bow or star on top of the pine cone to finish the tree.
