Why does everything have to taste so good? Oh, it’s the fatty stuff, the juicy stuff, and the oily stuff! No matter what dish you have, there’s some component in there that’s just really not good for you at all.

I know this is horrible unfortunate as it just tastes so good. Moderation is such an important factor in life, but when that food is right in front of you on the plate, it can be really hard to remember this fact

However, if you’re concerned with your health, your future, and your overall energy levels, I’ve got a short list of three high cholesterol foods you really need to avoid.

Cow Butter

This is in every main-dish ingredient, especially if you’re baking. I know it’s going to be really hard to get around it, but you really need to avoid cow butter. It’s nothing but the King Funk of Funky-town when it comes to high cholesterol and fat content.

There really are other healthy alternatives out there when you learn how to work with them, though it may take some time to adjust to the taste differences.

For instance, a lot of butter we previously used has been replaced with more healthy oils of our choice. For instance, first cold-pressed olive oil.

I know you’re saying, “aw, I don’t like olive oil!” Well, I have some good news for you. There are so many varieties and flavors of it out there that I can guarantee you just haven’t found the one you like. There are plenty and you should keep looking.

Just the other day I saw an "olive oil store" in the mall. That's probably a great place to discover your next favorite cow butter alternative.

Fried Chicken

I know, I know, diving your teeth into that juicy, crispy skin, and then taking that chunk out and enjoying that entire experience is a wonderful thing.

But, there’s so much fat and high cholesterol fried nastiness that goes into making that chicken that this is just something you really need to take off your plate.

Almost every place that sells the fried stuff also offers the baked and grilled stuff, too. You sometimes have to watch out for those alternatives for the way they bake and grill their products, but it’s almost always going to be better than the fried option.

Pork Bacon

As much as it pains me to say this, bacon really has no place in your diet. There’s nothing, other than maybe some protein content, that’s useful. There’s nothing that will really help you in any part of your life. Sure, the smile it brings to your face is a wonderful thing, but bacon has to go.

I’m sorry for having to point this whole bacon-bashing point out. I know that makes everyone a little less happy, but that’s the truth and bacon has to go just as soon as you’re ready to start caring about your health.

I might take some flack here, but I know of some (other!) people who say turkey bacon gets “pretty close” if you cook it in the oven on a cookie sheet. I can’t bring myself to try this, but if you really are brave and have a craving, then this might do the trick for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, though!

Life Might Be More Boring, But You’re Still Alive!

Cow butter, fried chicken, and bacon are three high cholesterol foods that you have to avoid starting today. They won’t help your future and they will hurt your energy today. The next time you’re at the grocery store, commit to not buying this stuff, and commit to buying the healthier alternatives. Your future depends on it.
