Baked Brie

Convince your guests that you're more sophisticated than they thought...

Total Time: 25 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Prep Time: 10 minutes

  • 1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls (Pepperidge Farm or Pillsbury)
  • 1 Brie cheese round
  • 4 tablespoons of Raspberry or Strawberry preserves
  • 2 tablespoons of melted margarine or butter
  • Crackers and apple slices for serving

1) Preheat oven to 400° F

2) Grease baking pan with teaspoon of olive oil or cooking spray

3) Open and roll out the crescent roll dough so it makes a rectangle/square.  Pinch the perforations together so it makes one full unbroken sheet of dough.

4) Leaving the rind on, place the Brie cheese round in the middle of the dough.

5) Spread the preserves on top of the Brie cheese round.  You can add more or less preserves for your liking.

6) Gather the dough, wrapping it over and around the cheese and preserves (like you would wrap a gift).

7) Brush or spoon the melted butter over the dough-wrapped cheese.

8) Bake for 20-25 minutes.

9) Serve hot with apple slices and your favorite crackers or pita chips.

Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip

All of your favorite loaded fries toppings in one dip…

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Prep Time: 2 hrs 10 minutes

  • 2 16oz packages of bacon
  • 16oz container of regular sour cream
  • 16oz bar of sharp cheddar cheese (or 2 8oz bars)
  • ½ cup of sliced green onions
  • 1/3 cup of Ranch dressing
  • 2 tablespoons of hot sauce
  • Your favorite brand of ruffled/wavy potato chips

1) Microwave all bacon strips, on microwave-safe plate lined with paper towels, until they are crispy

2) While the bacon is cooling, shred the bar(s) of cheddar cheese.  Place a ½ cup of shredded cheese aside.

3) Combine sour cream, the rest of the shredded cheddar cheese and 1/3 cup of ranch dressing in a big bowl.

4) Stir ingredients well, adding 2 tablespoons of hot sauce.

5) Crumble up the bacon strips into bacon bits.  Set aside ¼ cup of bacon bits.

6) Slice green onions, if they aren’t sliced already.  Set aside ¼ cup of sliced green onions.

7)  Add bacon bits and sliced green onions to the mix, stirring well.

8)  For appearance: Smooth out the dip to create an even top layer.  Scoop shredded cheddar cheese into the middle of the top of the dip.  Add bacon bits and green onions on top of cheese.

9)  Refrigerate at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.  The dip tastes better the longer the ingredients have to marinate together.

10) Serve dip at room temperature with your favorite brand of ruffled/wavy potato chips.
