3 Sure-Fire Ways To Stop Snoring

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 3

To stop snoring has been on the wish list for many men and women around the world for obvious reasons. As most of us can vouch for, it is a nightmare to sleep, or should I say, lie awake, next to a snorer.

Why do we snore? To drive our partner insane, that's why. No, most people snore because of unhealthy lifestyles. Granted, sometimes there are certain medical reasons, but for the purpose of this article, we will look at the obvious things we can do to stop snoring.

What can help us to stop snoring?

There are many things that can help, but the most important is yourself. What I am saying is that we mostly have ourselves to blame. To stop snoring requires some small lifestyle changes that cannot be achieved without some soul-searching and self-examination. Most people stop reading right here. Remember though that although your snoring doesn't bother you, it definitely bothers your loved ones.

Apart from the fact that being obese increases you chances of snoring, it is also very unhealthy. You owe it to yourself to start exercising regularly. If you haven't been exercising for years, it is a good idea to take a brisk walk for 30 minutes every day. If the area you live in is too dangerous or it is too cold in winter, invest in a treadmill or exercise bicycle. You will be amazed how great you feel after a good exercise session.

Guess what, by exercising every day, you eventually start getting the nagging desire to stop all other unhealthy habits like incorrect eating and smoking. Instead of sitting in front of the TV smoking, rather cut that one cigarette out and tackle that exercise bicycle with a vengeance!

We all know that when we are a bit intoxicated, exercising is the furthest from our minds! It could be a very good idea to first do your exercises when getting home from work, take a nice long shower, have a healthy and delicious supper, and then only have your drink that you have been looking forward to all day. You will probably find that by only having you first drink at that stage, you don't feel like binging on alcohol any more. Good for you, you are on your way to being a non-snorer and as an added bonus, you are now leading a much healthier lifestyle.

To sum it all up, implement only three changes for starters to help you to stop snoring: exercise a bit every day, stop smoking or at least start by smoking less, and drink less.

These small lifestyle changes will not only make your partner happy, but also the rest of the family, and most importantly, yourself.

Go for it, help yourself to stop snoring, nobody else will!

3 good sure fire ways to stop snoring. My husband has a snoring problem caused by his smoking. I'm going to try this spring to get him outside and walking with me. Hopefully it will help him and me. Thanks.

Lovely article. I was told I rarely if ever snore by family and friends. However a number of them snore a great deal. My brother especially, but then unfortunately he has sleep apnea. I wish they'd all read this article too.
