3 Ways to Spice Up a Boring Weight Loss Routine

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

There comes a time in every weight loss routine when things get boring fast. If you're trying to stay motivated during your weight loss plan, then here's how to save a lot of headaches. Listed below are 3 things you can do to rejuvenate any weight loss routine, and make getting healthy, fun.

Add More Variety

If you shop at the same grocery store weekly, then you might want to consider trying out a few different stores to see if they have more of a variety. Maybe you can visit the health food store that is closest to you - especially, if you've never gone before.

If organic products interest you, try doing some research on the items that you wouldn't mind trying. If it seems like everything is online these days, it's because everything is online these days. So if the health stores are sparse in your city, just check the internet. There's a long list of online health food stores that'll ship items directly to you.

Another place worth adding to your list of places to check out is your local farmers market. It's best to visit them in the warmer parts of the year. But, you're sure to find a nice assortment of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Make it Interesting

Something most people can agree on is how bland the food choices are with diets. Who wants to eat fish or chicken with no seasoning? Not to mention sauce or butter less veggies. You can't eat that kind of food for long without wondering why you're punishing yourself just to lose a few pounds.

One way to make food more interesting is by looking for different food plans. Jump on the net and search for the largest sites that have an assortment of recipes. Look for dishes that make your mouth water, and then think about ways you can modify them for your diet.

A couple of modifications you might think about making are, cutting down on the amount of oil or fat the recipe calls for; or using stevia as a substitute for sugar. You might even be able to replace a fried side dish, with healthy veggies. Those are just a few things you can do to make any meal better for you.

You can also throw in some natural herbs, spices, and seasonings to add a little kick to your dishes. That way you can add flavor without piling on a bunch of unnecessary calories. It's an easy way to punch up the taste and make your food more enjoyable to eat.

Reward Yourself

When you have money left over, think about getting something that gets you excited to eat better. It could be that fancy juicer you had your eye on, or maybe it's splurging on some exotic fruit. Or, maybe a new outfit to exercise in gets you motivated. You could show it off when you join the new group fitness class at the gym, you've been wanting to try.

It doesn't even have to be fitness related. You can get a gift card for yourself from your favorite shoe store (or clothing store) and use that as a reward for reaching your fitness target. Or, how about treating yourself to a full day of pampering at a highly rated day-spa? Now, that's a motivator!

Whatever reward you choose, you can then take the brochure, gift card, or even money and post it where you can see it each day. It'll remind you of your target, and hopefully inspire you enough to keep moving forward.
