Everyone loves throw a good birthday party, especially women. But if you need help and you're planning a 40th birthday party for a friend, or if you're planning one for yourself, here are a few ideas that might help get the party planning ball rolling. Turning 40 is a milestone occasion, and you want it to be a good one. Usually giving it a theme, choosing an exciting venue, having the best activities, or sometimes just inviting the right people can ensure a memorable time for you and your guests. So if you're getting ready to throw a 40th birthday party for a woman, here are a few ideas that should help you out.
There are plenty of themes you can choose from to ensure for a memorable event. Whatever the guest-of-honor's passions are would dictate which theme you'd choose. Does she have a favorite destination, but can't afford the trip just yet? You could theme the event with that in mind. If she enjoys Italy, all the food would be Italian; red, green and white would be the colors you'd use to decorate; maybe go to an Italian restaurant and afterward watch movies with that location being a prominent feature. You could do the same with Greece, England or any other location. If you were cooking the food yourself, it'd probably be a good idea to check on the Food Network or something for help with recipes. Other themes include a Luau theme with Hawaiian party supplies, a day at the spa theme, or anything else she's passionate about.
Location is another important factor when planning a 40th birthday party. You could tie a theme along with the venue. For instance, if she had a favorite band and that was the theme of choice, obviously going to a concert where that band is playing would be an awesome venue for a party. Tailgating in the parking lot before the big show would keep her favorite group close by, while also spending time with friends and family on her birthday. Also, if she's chosen a poetry theme, maybe going to an event where professionals recite their poems would be an adequate birthday venue. Being able to watch spoken-word poets performing on-stage would definitely be a treat, birthday or not.
Doing things she enjoys would make for other great 40th birthday party ideas. Is she a fanatic when it comes to shopping? Can she not resist the urge of flipping through the nearest catalog magazine? Then why not go department store surfing for her 40th birthday? Having everyone present gift cards to popular clothing brand stores then taking her on an evening of extravagant spending would be a dream come true. Maybe set up a registry of various clothing brand stores located in a mall and each guest would choose a store they'd purchase the gift card for. You could also add mall restaurants in the mix since you might want to eat after all that shopping. Is she a big sports fan? Then maybe a day out on the tennis courts, or a round of golf with a few of her athletically inclined friends would make for another great 40th birthday party idea. If she enjoys doing it, why not make a day out of it?
