Clearing up your acne takes a coordinated approach of many things.  Everyone has their topical and oral treatments that work for them, but there are some ways you can ensure that you get the clear, beautiful skin you’ve always wanted.  Here are 4 nifty ways you can clear your acne, and stop it from forming in the first place.

1. Cover Your Pillow

Your pillow is a goldmine for bacteria and dirt.  Think about how often your face is in your pillow, and how it is transferring bacteria to your face, bacteria that could aggravate your skin and acne.  Before you go to bed, put a fresh towel over your pillow.  This is one of the most effective ways to stop acne from forming, as your face will be resting on a fresh, bacteria free towel.

2. Take a Zinc Supplement

If I told you that you could take a pill, once a day, and it would help out clearing your skin, would you take it?  I’m guessing that answer is a yes.  Zinc is one of the most effective supplements you can take to treat your acne.  Many of us lack the necessary amount of zinc per day, and this can cause you to break out.  For men, you also release a large amount of zinc when you masturbate.  Make sure you are getting your zinc supplement every day.

3.  Drink 3-4 Litres of Water a Day

Do you have any idea how much water you are drinking a day? You should.  People will throw a lot of numbers at you about how much water you should drink, but I would say that 2 or more litres is plenty.  Personally, I would aim for 3-4 if you are an active person.  Anything more than that is unnecessary.  Water is great for your body and your skin, period.  Make sure you are getting enough of it.

4.  Baking Soda

Baking soda works great as an overnight spot treatment, better than toothpaste or honey.  All you have to do is take some baking soda, mix in some water to make a paste like substance, and apply it on your pimple or zit.  Let it dry, and leave it on overnight.  The baking soda and water mixture dries out the pimple or zit completely, and will leave it looking much smaller the next morning.  Baking soda is also effective in reducing the redness of acne.  However, be warned that you shouldnt be using this every day or night.
