4 Steps to Creating a Minimalist Life
Creating a minimalist life has become very appealing to many people. Most people's lives are filled with various forms of clutter. In addition, the clutter in their lives usually causes them to become stressed. Getting rid of the various forms of clutter and minimizing different areas of your life can help you to live a more stress free and enjoyable life.
1. Minimize your wardrobe
One part of creating a minimalist lifestyle that most people have a problem with is minimizing their wardrobes. Most women do not wear more than 80 percent of the clothes in their closet. That means that there are plenty of pieces of clothing that can be thrown out or donated to a thrift shop. However before you can begin to minimize your wardrobe, you neeed to have a developed style. If you plan your wardrobe smartly, minimizing your wardrobe also makes it a lot easier to get dressed in the morning. When you have a wardrobe filled with clothes, you love then making decisions on what to wear is easier.
2. Minimize time with television and media.
Television is slowly becoming obsolete as more and more shows are becoming available online. However, television shows and other forms of media can take up a lot of time in our daily lives. CD's and DVD's in addition to taking up time also take up a lot of space. Limiting your time spent watching television is important in creating a minimalist life and it frees you up to take action in setting and achieving your goals.
3. Minimize spending
Many times when you are spending money, it is to buy more stuff, which helps to create physical clutter. One reason to minimize spending is that having more money saved will help make you feel safer and at peace with the future. No one likes wondering how they are going to pay their bills or rent. Saving money starts with minimizing spending.
4. Minimize email.
Opening your email and seeing 200 messages in your inbox can really clutter your mind. Change the setting in your email account if you can, to send junk mail to a spam or junk mail folder. Also, try not to check email more than twice a day. Constantly checking email tends to create more stress and is counter productive in creating a minimalist life.

Yeah, minimalism is a making a comeback because we are over-consuming. I have started banishing emails and sms-es from banks enticing me with credit card deals :)
