4 Ways to Naturally Increase Testosterone

Testosterone is a large part of what makes us men.  Higher levels of testosterone (healthy, not overboard) make you more confident, increases your sex drive, and increases your ability to gain muscle.  Better yet, there are ways to boost your testosterone naturally without any prescriptions or expensive supplements.  Some of the ways don’t even require any hard work all.  More testosterone leads to a more manly you, but don't over do it.

1.  Take A Zinc Supplement

I like to think that zinc is the manliest of the metals.  Not only does it increase testosterone levels, but it helps fight acne as well.  Zinc is very inexpensive and can be bought at your local grocery store or pharmacy.  Ideally, you want to be taking 25-50mg of zinc a day at most, and make sure to take it with food as well.  Zinc is an easy, inexpensive way to boost your testosterone naturally.   

2.  Lose Weight

Losing weight is a great way to boost your testosterone.  Not only will it make you feel more confident from looking at yourself in the mirror, but the added testosterone will improve many areas of your life.  Losing weight does not have to be hard, and if you decide to find a plan for losing weight and sticking to it, you will see other improvements as well.  You don’t need to be drastic about it, just shed off some of that unnecessary body fat.

3.  Heavy Compound Lifts

When you are lifting weights in the gym, take note of how many reps you are doing for each set.  The best way to increase testosterone in the weight room is by doing heavy compound exercises – that is, doing exercises that involve the whole body and not just a few muscles, such as squats and deadlifts.  You should be aiming to do 5 or 6 reps per every set, making sure that the weight you are pushing or pulling is heavy enough so you can only do that many.  These heavy lifts really ignite muscle growth.

4.  Sleep 8 Hours a Night

Sleep is important!  You should be aiming to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night, but shoot for 8.  This way, your body is fully rested and everything is in order, keeping your testosterone levels at their highest.   You will feel better and look better if you are getting a good night’s sleep every night, even if it means getting of the internet at 12 am instead of 2 am. 

You do not need steroids or a trip to the doctor to increase your testosterone levels.  Do these 4 things, and your testosterone levels will be boosted naturally.
