5 Benefits Of Waking Up Early

There are many benefits of waking up early in the morning. Not only will you feel like you have an advantage over everybody else that is still sleeping, you will also feel that you are doing something to change your life for the better. Here are five benefits of becoming an early riser:

1. More time - Waking up early gives you more time to exercise, meditate or doing another activity that you normally have difficulties finding time for. If you usually wake up at 7am and you decide to start waking up at 5am, you have two more hours everyday you can spend on doing something that can improve your life. Of course, waking up 2 hours earlier than usual also means getting to bed 2 hours earlier. But those two hours during the evening are mostly spent unproductive in front of the TV or the computer.

2. More productive - People who are early risers tend to feel more productive than people waking up late. Many of them find that their most productive hours is during this time. Many distractions that keep you from being productive simply doesn’t exist, like phone calls, because everyone else is still sleeping. Early mornings often equals a quiet home which also contributes to productivity and work flow. It also gives you time to schedule your day, write a to-do-list and optimize your time.

3. Less stress - If you are like most people, mornings can be really stressful if you have to do to many things in a short period of time. And being stressed in the morning can often affect the whole day negatively. If you decide to start waking up earlier, you will have more time to do the things you need to do. You may even have time to eat breakfast or read a few pages of a self-development book that will get you in a happy state of mind.

4. Improve health - Waking up early can also improve your mental and physical health. From an evolutionary standpoint, humans are designed to wake up when the sun rises, and that alone can be the logical reason to wake up early. Not only that, but you will have time to go for a run, power-walk or doing some yoga which will improve your physical health. You will also have time to improve your mental health if you give yourself to develop the routine of waking up happy.

5. Feel better - The activities you can potentially do if you decide to wake up early can both improve your mental and physical health. And knowing that you are waking up earlier to improve or change your life will give you more confidence and the feeling of success. This feeling will soon start to affect your life positively and you will create a momentum that continues to grow every single day.

Are you excited to start waking up earlier and reap the positive benefits of it? Of course! So set your alarm clock at the time you want to wake up, leave your alarm clock at the other side of the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off and start your day with a fresh glass of water.
