Having a crock pot is great.  Prepare all your food in the crockpot the night before and first thing in the morning turn it on and by dinner time you have a meal that you didn’t have to rush to put together.  You don’t have to worry about rushing back to get dinner on the table, it will be ready when you walk in the door.  Here are some great recipes to try.

Homemade Pot Roast: 

Ingredients:Pot Roast

3-4 Medium Potatoes

1 Bag of precut Carrots

1 Can of beef broth

1 cup water

Place your pot roast into the crock pot. Cut up 3-4 potatoes and add precut carrots to the pot.  Add a can of beef broth and then fill the can with a cup of water and set on high for 8 hours.

Creamy Pork chops:


6-8 Pork Chops

1 Cup flour

1 tbsp. onion powder

1 tbsp. dry mustard

2 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 can condensed cream of chicken soup

2 cups water

You can prepare your pork chops the night before and place in crockpot to start the next morning.  Mix 1 cup flour, 1 tbsp. onion powder and 1 tbsp. dry mustard in a medium bowl.  Coat pork chops into the mixture.  Add 2 tbsp. oil to frying pan and brown pork chops on both sides.  Don’t fully cook the pork chops.  Add a can of cream of chicken soup and then fill can twice with water and place in crock pot. Add pork chops to soup mixture.  Cook for 6-7 hours.

Homemade meatballs: 

Ingredients:1 pound ground beef

½ cup Italian bread crumbs

1 egg

½ cup chopped onions

3 cups spaghetti sauce

 Take 1 pound ground beef, ½ cup Italian bread crumbs, 1 egg and ½ cup onions and mix them all together.  Add salt and pepper to season.  Make 17-18 balls and place in the crock pot.  Add 3 cups of spaghetti sauce.  Cook for 6-8 hours on high.

Italian Pork chops:


6-8 pork chops

1 egg

½ cup bread crumbs

½ cup parmesan cheese

2 tbsp. vegetable oil

3 cups spaghetti sauce

 Beat one egg in a bowl.  Mix ½ cup bread crumbs and ½ cup parmesan cheese together in separate bowl.  Dip pork chops into egg.  Coat pork chops in bread crumb mixture.  Add two tbsp. vegetable oil to frying pan and brown pork chops.  Add 3 cups spaghetti sauce to crock pot. Place browned pork chops into crock pot and cook for 6-8 hours.

Cheesy Chicken Alfredo: This last recipe does take a little bit of prep time on the day of the meal. This would be a good weekend recipe.


6-8 chicken breast tenderloins

1 jar alfredo sauce

1 cup parmesan cheese

1 box fettucine pasta

Mix 1 jar of alfredo sauce and 1 cup parmesan cheese in a bowl.  Pour mixture into crock pot.  Cut 6-8 chicken breast tenderloins into cubes and add to crock pot.  Cook 6-8 hours. While that is still cooking cook fettucine pasta and set aside. When chicken alfredo is done, dump the fettucine into the crock pot and mix it all together.
