By Edited Jul 3, 2016 0 0

When someone mentions holidaying in Britain, what do you think of? Dreary beaches and stuffy countryside homes, or beautifully cobbled streets and tranquil coves? If the latter doesn't instantly spring to mind, then hopefully this article will convince you otherwise. Britain has plenty to offer, and if you own a motorhome, you can travel across the UK discovering some of its best kept secrets, all at your own leisure.
Here are 5 hidden British gems then that you must visit in your motorhome:

Kynance Cove, Cornwall

A short drive from Lizard Point, the most southern part of Britain, Kynance Cove is a spectacular example of Britain's stunning beaches. Whilst it was once quite difficult to reach, The National Trust have recently made it much more accessible. With its crisp, clear waters and fascinating rock structures, this is a must see location of the south.

Hamble, Hampshire

A picturesque village located in between Southampton and Portsmouth, Hamble is steeped in heritage, and is home to some of Britain's most gorgeously unspoilt countryside. Sprawling across the River Hamble, the harbour is populated with thousands of exciting yachts and riverboats. There is plenty to do on and off the river however, as you can always pop in for a bite to eat at one of Hamble's many charming public houses, or send a postcard home from their new gold post box.

Hay-on-Wye, Wales

Renowned across the world as the "town of books", Hay-on-Wye is a mecca for literature fans everywhere. Located on the Welsh side of the beautiful borderlands between England and Wales, the town and its many bookshops have hosted the Hay literary festival for over thirty years now, spanning over 10 days and attracting some of the biggest names in the book industry.

Lincoln Christmas Market, Lincoln

Travelling in the winter months? Then Lincoln's expansive Christmas market is a must-see. The first thing you'll notice about this three day market is the sheer spectacle of its size. From the 6th to the 9th December Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter is engulfed with over 300 stalls containing an amazing range of festive goods.

Aviemore, Scotland

Ideal for the adventurous types, Aviemore has activities for the whole family. Events like hiking, mountain biking, skiing and even dog sledding are all on the menu. Located in the heart of Scottish highlands, if the scenery doesn't take your breath away, the day's excitements certainly will. It's also worth noting that you can see Britain's only herd of Reindeer just six miles away at The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre.
