Zumba has been around for quite some time, yet some people still have not tried out this amazing workout.  I'll be honest, when I first even thought of going - I was completely intimated by watching everyone in the class do it.  They all are loyal fans of the class and could probably do the choreography with their eyes closed, they were so good.  Though I was quite intimidated to try Zumba, I didn't let the loyal fans with memorized choreography sway me.  I jumped in and couldn't have been happier!!  I loved going to the classes but sometimes it didn't fit my schedule, but I didn't let that stop me from getting my Zumba on! 

If I don't make it to at least one class a week - I am for sure stomping on my floor at home and getting in the groove with their DVD set!

Today I just wanted to encourage you to try it out if you haven't.  Using the DVD set, you'll be able to go at your own pace and even take breaks when you need to without missing a step.  Here are 5 reasons you'll love Zumba!

1)  It is the best one-girl (or man) party ever!
Whenever I'm doing Zumba at home I feel like I'm right there with all the other dancers!! Yes, I am a dancer.  I'm not working out.  I'm dancing my fat off and LOVING IT!!

2) You can throw your own dance party at home.

Invite your friends over.  Have everyone bring a healthy snack to share with the group and have a great afternoon!  You get to party with your closest friends so you won't feel intimidated by other people that you done know.  You get to socialize while breaking a sweat and doing something good for your health and body.  Lastly, sharing healthy snacks can introduce you to new foods and/or recipes to add to your repertoire.

3) You can learn and master new dances

The thing I love about Zumba is that it brings in various cultural influences to create one harmonious workout system.  Take it easy with a belly dancing influenced number.  Then get ready to pump it up with a samba.

4) Oh, wait, I'm workin out?

That's right!  Not only are you getting an awesome cardio workout in, but many of the dances help you to build your core.  Be sure to follow the instructions given to ensure you're doing them correctly so that you get the most benefits that you can out of the dances - I mean workouts.

5) You'll be happier than before you started it.

Yes it is true. While you may be sweaty, tired and maybe burnt out for the first couple of times.  Working out - specifically aerobic exercises, such as Zumbahelp to release a chemical in your body called seratonin.  The more seratonin that is released, the better your mood, the happier you'll be!

It's pretty much a given recipe for success!!  If you haven't tried Zumba, or you've done a class and didn't care to do it in that venue - I encourage you to try it out in the privacy of your own home!  You won't regret it.
