Today's western society has a problem- the birth rate is rapidly declining because young people just aren't having children! Politicians, journalists and skeptics are all aligned in the understanding that there aren't as many kids being born in the 2000's compared with the 1990's and 1980's.
1. You Have More Energy When You're Young
I was having a discussion the other day with a couple who has 4 children and is in the early 30's. They mentioned that they see many friends and family members just now getting around to starting a family, and can't imagine how exhausted they are with multiple little ones around the house. When you're in your 20's, you have amazing levels of energy that go away as you get older, making it the perfect time for babies!
Add to this the fact that it is easier on the mom to go through pregnancy at a young, spry age then when she is older, and what do you have to lose?
2. Having Kids Helps You Get Over Yourself
We are all selfish, self-centered people, who care most about ourself. This can lead to many arguments in marriage, and is one of the reasons divorce is so rampant in our society. Learn first to give up your life for your spouse, and then for your children. You will grow so much personally, and be a better person because of it!
3. They're a Blast!
Kids are so much fun, and so cute! Yes, there are many, many hard times, but overall the experience is amazing and totally worth it!
4. You May Not Have The Control You Think You Have!
Birth control is a popular, highly used method of family planning in our society today, and I have nothing against it. However, I also have a few sets of friends who used birth control to put off children, and then found themselves infertile in their 30's. Doctors say that a woman's fertility can start to slow and drop off starting at age 25, so there's no better time then when you're young!
5. The Money Myth
Many people put off chldren because they feel that they don't have enough money to buy all of the things that kids need. Yes- cribs, car seats, pack-n-play's, high chairs and clothes cost a ton when you buy them new. But, I've got news for you. There is an amazing market of used baby items, which has allowed my wife and I to purchase everything from consignment shops and yard sales, saving well over 50% off new prices. Many of the items we have even look new!
I really hope that this article inspires you to consider having offspring! It is such a joy, and I highly recommend it to everyone!
