It's not hard to see why San Diego attracts millions of tourists from all over the world every year. It has an ideal climate all year round and some of the best beaches in the West Coast, as well as a lively nightlife and plenty of unique attractions for the whole family. Here are just five reasons to make San Diego your next vacation destination.

The Beaches
San Diego has some of the most beautiful beaches in California. Whether you're looking to catch the waves or relax in the sand and work on your tan, you can find an ideal spot along the San Diego County coast. The sea cliffs of La Jolla and Torrey Pines are also worth visiting, as they have some of the most stunning views of the Pacific shore.

The Weather
The Mediterranean climate of San Diego occurs in very few places around the world. It combines mild, sunny weather with cool ocean breezes all year, an ideal mix that has a rejuvenating effect.

The Theme Parks
San Diego is also a great place to take the whole family. Parents and kids can both have a blast at the SeaWorld theme park, where they can enjoy the thrilling rides and jaw-dropping animal shows. Kids will love spending a day at Legoland in Carlsbad, and there's also the World Famous San Diego Zoo, as well as the San Diego Wild Animal park, where you can see some of the most exotic animals in the world up close and personal.

The Nightlife
San Diego has a very dynamic nightlife that you might not read about in a San Diego, CA guide for travel. The historic Gaslamp District in Downtown San Diego has some of the hottest dance clubs, bars, cocktail lounges and live music venues, all within a short walking distance of each other. For a more bohemian atmosphere, visit the North Park and Hillcrest areas, where you'll find night clubs and music shows as well as gallery openings and great dining.

The Harbor
The San Diego Harbor is a great place to visit. The Redbull Air Races are held there every year. The harbor is also host to the Maritime Museum, which includes four historical sea vessels you can climb into and explore. You can rent a sailboat or go for an afternoon cruise and see the view of the city skyline from out at sea.
