5 Things You Should Have At A Bridal Shower
A bridal shower is a great way to get many of the close friends of the bride together for a celebration of the fact that she's about to have the biggest day of her life -- her wedding day. There all kinds of ways to set up a bridal shower and there's really no real right or wring way for one to be planned, but there are also a few things that on a higher level should probably be included pretty much no matter what. The following things aren't listed in any particular order, so feel free to put more emphasis on the ones that you feel you need to include more than others.
Make It A Party!
I think that most people make bridal showers way too boring by feeling like they need to do the same things and have the same overall feel that brides used to have at their showers 30+ years ago. To this I say mix it up a bit, have a little fun and have yourself a bridal shower party that all of your guests can have fun, feel comfortable and let loose at. Of course, there will most likely be older people there, such as grandma, so you won't want to get too crazy.
You Gotta Have Games
I don't care who you are, having games at any event always bumps up the amount of fun that the people have. There are all kinds of games that can be played specifically for a bridal shower, so be sure to research them a bit and see which ones will fit your group of people the best. One of the best things about games is that it gives a group of people who may or may not know each other very well a fun and easy way to socialize without feeling awkward about it.
Time To Chat
Whether you're chatting about old stories or about last minute wedding reception ideas, having some time set aside to where you can just chat with each other is another very important element of any bridal shower. Usually a good time to do this is after you play a few games and loosen people up or a bit or while you're having your guests eat a snack, Having food and drinks around always helps ease the task of chit-chatting with one another.
Where Are The Snacks?
I feel like there doesn't necessarily need to be dinner provided at a bridal party, but having some smaller snacks (sweets, salty snacks, veggies + dip, etc.) are something that will keep people held over until dinner and will also make for some social interaction at the snack table.
Continue The Party!
For those who are interested, it's a good idea to set up something after the bridal shower for the people who are ready to take the party elsewhere. It might even be a good idea to schedule the soon-to-be-brides bachelorette party directly after the bridal shower due to the fact that all of the people will be there together already, so it will make for an easy transition.
