* Gargle with warm salt water

This method goes all the way to mum old medicine book this is a remedy that has been used for a long time and it always works especially with sore throat. Put a half teaspoon of salt in a glass off warm water and gargle twice a day.

* Intake lots of fluid

It is advisable to take about eight glasses of water a day. this keeps you hydrated and hence keeps the lining of the nose moist making it easy to for the mucus to clear. Do not take alcohol as it causes dehydration

* Try a little honey

Honey also goes way back to mums medicine cabinet and was used to cure so many diseases and so does it cure common cold. Take a tablespoon of honey once a day or you can take it in warm water just as in salt you can also add ginger and lemon to the water.

* keep stress levels down and have enough rest

It is very important to rest so that your body can fight the virus quickly and more effectively; so when you have a cold go home switch off your phone and relax under a warm atmosphere.

* Do not exercise

I know most of you are asking why but it is important that you stop exercising for 2 – 3 days so that your body can save forces to fight the virus.
