In the busy day to day, paycheck to paycheck lives we live, many of us find ourselves slowly letting ourselves go and quickly watching our waistlines grow. In our busy lives, finding time to exercise and eating healthy is near impossible. Luckily, there are many ways to cut back on the extra pounds you are getting. However, like everything, sacrifice will be necessary. In order to lose weight quickly, you must be willing to put in effort and make some time in order to exercise as well as eat in a healthy manner.


1. Drink Plenty of Water

    Did you know that drinking the right amount of water can raise your metabolism? In fact, just drinking 64 ounces of water a day (or more if you are working hard or exercising) can help your body burn 100 calories or more a day. When you take into consideration that there are 3600 calories in a pound, figure that you can lose an entire pound of fat in about a month just by drinking the right amount of water. Plus, your body will feel more refreshed and energized.

    2. Eat healthy foods

      Simply by eating healthier, you can cut calories off of your daily intake extremely quickly. By skipping a Big Mac, a large order of French fries, and a large Coca-Cola, you can also skip out on over 1000 calories that go straight to your gut. 1000 calories is half of the average person’s daily intake of calories. How many Big Macs did you eat today? That’s what I thought. Substitute the fast food with healthy alternatives such as salad, baked chicken, fruits and vegetables. By cutting out all the greasy fast food, your body will operate more smoothly, your metabolism will rise (ability to burn calories while resting), and you won’t be consuming all those extra calories.


      But what if you can’t get yourself to keep to a schedule?


      3. Write down everything you eat – Keep a Food Journal

        By writing down everything you eat, you can ensure that you know what kinds of food you are putting in your body and how many calories you are consuming and need to cut down to lose weight quickly. As you end each day, review what you have eaten throughout the day and how you could have eaten healthier. After that, set yourself up a goal for the next day to eat better. Pretty soon, the results of your hard labor will not only be seen on your waistline, but on your food journal as well.

        4. Eat several small meals throughout the day

          Eating several smaller portioned meals throughout the day has been proven to increase metabolism rates. A problem many people face is that their body goes into starvation mode because it hasn’t been fed for a long period of time. When the body goes into starvation mode, it limits your metabolism to avoid burning too much energy. Simply by eating more than three times per day, you can give your metabolism a boost and help your body lose weight quickly by burning calories faster while at rest.

          5. Get Outside or to a Gym

            Go somewhere and workout at least twice a week. Whether you lift weight to gain muscle and boost your metabolism or do some cardio to burn calories, the key to losing weight quickly is going the extra miles and putting your body to work. Eating right and drinking the right amount of water will only get you so far. To get a healthy body, you need to keep it in shape. So go hit the gym, you might even like it!
