6 Things to do in Boracay

Boracay is a beautiful island in the Philippines south of Manila. The premier beach is known as White Beach and runs for 4 kms. Filled with many resorts, it is the ideal location to relax or explore via the array of activities on offer.  There are many local vendors on the beach, all vying for your business, although it is advised to organise your chosen activities through your accommodation provider to ensure a safe and happy experience.

The 3 main demographics of tourists are Korean, Chinese and Russian.  The island remains relatively unknown Aussie, US and UK tourists.

Sail boat rides
The bay fills with sail boats during the day allowing you to get out onto the open water.  A refreshing sea breeze pushes the boats through the clear waters giving you picturesque views back to the beaches of Boracay.  The sailing adventure continues throughout the afternoon until all the boats converge back to the sandy beaches at dusk for pre-dinner cocktails.

Jet skiing
If sailing is too slow for you then hire a jet ski to power you across the bay.  Seating one or two people a jet ski adds adrenaline to the water.  Jet skis can be hired for 30 minutes or an hour.

Helmet diving
An adventure to the ocean floor is made possible with a helmet dive.  Allowing you to keep your head completely dry throughout the whole experience you can get a crystal clear view of the underwater world of Boracay.  With the helmet connected and supplying air you are able to stroll across the underwater landscape.

If you want to see the underwater world but feel more comfortable remaining closer to the surface, then go the snorkel and flippers option..  Floating on the surface, you can get close to the water creatures of Boracay while breathing comfortably through the snorkel.

After trying the adventure sports, or if you are just looking to relax, organise a massage at one of the resorts or many massage parlours along the beach path.  Whether you choose to be inside or out on the beach, prepare your self for 60 minutes of complete relaxation.

Shopaholics, don’t fret. The magnificent DMall will meet all your requirements. Souvenir shops a plenty offer local garments and beachwear as well as all of your fridge magnet and banjo needs.  DMall also plays host to some of the best restaurants, cafes and bars on the island. Whether you are after traditional Filipino dishes or something more exotic, you will find it in DMall with almost every cuisine available for your gastronomic pleasure!

There are many more activities to enjoy on the island and the people are warm and welcoming.  Just don’t forget the sunscreen!!!
