Time management is very challenging, especially if you're on the computer and there are temptations like e-bay, Amazon, Facebook, Google, e-mail and many others tugging at you to visit them. How do you keep your focus and keep in control of your time?

Here are some great tips on some great time management techniques.

1. Whenever you can, try and limit your time spent online to different times of your day. Schedule in internet time when you have finished the tasks on the to-do list.

2. Shut down your instant messenger, e-mail, RSS feeds and anything else that is a distraction to you. Putting up this boundary is going to help you keep on track.

3. Keep your goals in mind as you do your internet searches. Don't give into the temptation to look at interesting links or read cool stuff. Get back to your tasks right after you found the answer you needed.

4. Keep a list of all the interesting and cool links you find while researching. Then promise yourself that you'll put the time aside to look at them later. This will make it much easier to drop them and move on.

5. Keep a log for a week of how much time you really spend online checking out "other" stuff besides work related things. Also you can log your work time, just keep track of how you are spending your time online. Don't judge, just keep the facts. Then once you have all your facts you can make an informed choice.

6. Set time limits for your projects so you won't get lost out there in cyber-world. It's so easy to lose track of time when your at the computer. Try setting an alarm and when it goes off then you get right back to work.

7. Make sure you keep the promise to yourself and go to those links you saved and those e-mails you wanted to read. As long as you got all the tasks done on your do-list then you can reward yourself with internet play time.

Doing these time management techniques will keep you on task and get your projects done on time.
