7 Items I Travel With
Travelling can be tiresome activity. Making it the more comfortable can be achieved by packing just a few items. In this article, I will provide you with a list of my favourite items that I have made my travels just a little more easy.
Eye Mask
If you are like me, you are a light sleeper and any bit of light can disturb your sleep. An eye mask can help you sleep for those long, tiresome journey's on buses, trains or buses. Make sure you purchase one that is durable and has strong elastic so you won't have it break on you just when you need it.
Ear Plugs or iPod
Noise can also disturb sleep. A set of ear plugs can help you drown out the noise of conversation around your or the plane that you are travelling. As an alternative, some people prefer to use an iPod and listen to their favourite, relaxing music.
Natural Supplements for Sleep
I don't like taking prescriptive pills in order to get some sleep while I travel. Instead, I prefer to take natural supplements that assist with sleep. You can find these at your local supplement store or talk to a naturopath.
Pen and Paper
I've constantly been caught out in situations where I need to take somebody's contact details or directions to where I'm heading. Relying on your cell phone to type down some details isn't always ideal as they tend to run out off battery at the wrong moment.
Some Luxuries to Freshen Up
When arriving at your destination after a long trip, it is always a good idea to freshen up in order to improve your mood and appearance. For men, this could mean a razor and shaving cream. Women may want to take a spiral curling iron to do their hair when they arrive. There are a cheap range of travel sized hair curling irons that you can buy.
Anti-Bacterial Gel
You won't always be in a situation where you can wash you hands with clean, fresh water and soap. Coming in small travel sized containers, anti-bacterial gel can keep your hands clean while you travel. They also reduce the risk of transferring any germs or infections from your hands to your face or other people.
Travel Money Pouch
These handy little wallets can be hidden under your clothes and keep safe you passport and money checks. I still keep a wallet without nothing valuable in it inside my pocket to trick any pickpocketers.
