Milwaukee is often not thought of as a vacation destination but after looking at some of the cool stuff this City offers you may change your mind about this.

The Solvay Ruins are the remnants of an old factory that converted coal into coke to use for heating and other uses. The factory was originally built in 1906 and was shutdown in 1983. Each year more and more of the old buildings are destroyed and removed. If you make it to Milwaukee then it is worth a daytime venture over there to see some of the history before the rest of the Solvay Ruins are permanently removed to make way for future growth.

4. Miller Park –Home of the Milwaukee Brewers

Miller Park is the place to go when you are visiting Milwaukee. There is nothing cooler to do in my opinion then to watch the Brewers play a game when visiting Milwaukee. Miller Park opened in 2001. Miller Park was the replacement park for Milwaukee County Stadium which is where the Brewers played prior to 2001.

The Quadracci Pavilion is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture anywhere in the World. The Quadracci Pavilion is a pretty amazing feat for a town know for its’ beer drinking history.

The Quadracci Pavilion is part of the Milwaukee Art Museum. The Quadracci Pavilion is notable for the “Wings”. The wigs on this building move so it can act as a sun block on the glass exterior of the museum. It is truly amazing to see the wings on the Quadracci Pavilion open or close. The wings are called Burke Brise Soleil.

If you happen to be in Milwaukee during the NBA basketball season then you HAVE to go to a Milwaukee Bucks basketball game. Even if you are not normally a fan of sports you will probably enjoy the experience tremendously, especially if you have never been to an NBA game before. After a Bucks win hit the town to celebrate with the locals at one of the countless bars.
