A Closer Look on Bad Acne: Physical and Psychological Results

Acne is technically defined as acne vulgaris, considered a common skin problem that plagues many people usually between the adolescent years to later adult life. It is characterized by an eruptive outbreak of the skin. Acne targets parts of the skin that is most prone to the formation of sebaceous follicles and glands; the area referred to as the as the T-zone which includes the forehead, the nose, and the chin. Sometimes, acne is commonly referred to as pimples, spots, zits, whiteheads, blackheads, or blemishes. So as to prevent bad acne, a lot of skin care products are widely available in the market today.

Acne can be very irritating and frustrating because it causes skin irritation, swelling, redness, skin inflammations, and some severe cases of bad acne like cystic acne targets deeper skin issue that may contain pus. Even if acne diminishes from time to time, it still usually results to ugly scars and blemishes. Acne doesn't subside completely without proper facial regimen everyday. There is no way to find out how long you will be susceptible to acne because acne outbreaks depend solely on different factors such as genetic make-up, hormonal changes, skin type and the environment.

Aside from gruesome and embarrassing physical effects, it has been proven in studies that adolescents who suffer the worst cases of acne have reduced self-esteem and self-confidence. As adolescence years and formation is the most crucial part of growing up in one's life due to the important transition in physical, mental and psychological development, dealing with a serious skin problem like acne can be very harrowing and excruciating. Finding social identity for persons who suffer from acne can be difficult because of physical insecurities and peer pressure going on. Anyone who has this problem would end up getting depressed and would resort to seclusion away from people. Some cases even lead to serious dejection and suicide to make matters worst.

If you suffer from a serious skin problem then you need a professional medical consultation and treatment. Usually acne is caused by dirty environment, hormonal changes, stressful events and unhygienic routines that need to have proper solutions and diagnosis. Acne has never been a surprising skin problem – virtually 95% of people in the world suffer at least from it. It has been diagnosed both naturally and scientifically from the dawn of recorded history until the modern age. Hot water therapy had been practiced during the Roman period to open pores and clean clogged ones. So the pursuit to cure acne and to end up with a smooth and spotless skin will always be a priority one for skin care specialist and scientists. For acne on other areas of the body an acne body wash is recommended For the meantime, it is highly recommended to always follow a clean and healthy stress-free living to avoid them.
