A Day In New York

By Edited Jul 2, 2014 0 0

Have you decided to spend a day in New York City? Well, to tell you the truth, you'd probably need much more time. New York city is a huge place. There are so many things you can do, it would be hard to do it all in one day. You could go to the zoo, see a play and of course, go shopping. But if you're not sure what exactly you should do, this is the guide that will solve all your problems. It will give you advice on what to see if you have kids, or if your going with your friends.

If you have Kids

If you have kids from the ages of 2 to 15, there are great things to do in the city. Even some adults won't mind. You're always a kid at heart, right?

The Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is a great way to spend your day. There are all kinds of animals and other activities to do including great food and live entertainment. There are plenty of shows that will exhibit animals like whales, dolphins and tigers. It is also a wonderful learning experience for your children and yourself. There, you will learn about endangered animals and what you can do to save them. Tickets range from 20 to 25 dollars but if you buy online, you can save a few bucks!

Ripley's Believe it or Not

Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum is based off of the show Ripley's Believe it or Not. It shows many things that are pretty hard to believe. Like girls with two heads or a man that stands at over eight feet tall. It is pretty fun. You can even act as a agent for the CIA and go through laser beams. Get your fortune read as well. This museum is located right in Times Square and the tickets are about 20 to 25 dollars online. You can also print out a 20% off coupon online, which you can use at the door to get the same price.

It's gotta be Broadway!

Broadway is also a must see. A Broadway show will stay in the minds of your children, FOREVER. There are so many kid friendly plays nowadays, you'll find something. There is Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King, the Little Mermaid, and Mary Poppins. Tickets can start at about 60 dollars and go up to about 200 depending on when you buy them.

Just you and Your Friends!!

You can shop anywhere in New York. There is China Town where you will get tons of deals for bags, jewelry and scarfs. You can also shop in Soho. There are hundreds of street vendors that you can negotiate with. You can also go to other stores like Macy's, Forever 21, and Century 21. One of my favorite stores in Soho is Sabon, which is a soap store. They sell the best scrubs that are made of sea salt found in the dead sea in Israel. In Times Square, you'll find so much more. Banana Republic, the Gap, Armani, American Eagle, basically anything you want.

A Bus Tour

You can also go on a Double Decker Bus for a pretty cheap price, and get a tour of the city. It will take you to China Town, Soho, through time square, Ground Zero which has a new 9/11 Memorial. The five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island are great places to visit too. There is also a hop on hop off bus which can be very convenient during the day. You can get on and off when you wish too.

Well, there you have it. Things to do in New York. Of course, I only scratched the surface. There is so much more you can do. But these will be helpful if you have kids, or if your just hanging with your friends. Enjoy!
