Dance Videos to Lose Weight

Dance Videos to Lose Weight
Do you hate exercising? But need to lose a few pounds? I found a great fun way to lose weight and have fun with exercise.

Dance Videos. Before you hit the back button, consider all the exercise videos you probably have sitting collecting dust near your TV. We all start off excited to do something about our health and weight, but after continuous repetitions of jumping jacks, leg raises and sit-ups, we just get too bored.

Just the thought of plugging in that aerobics video may have you dragging yourself out of bed in the morning.  Lets face it, if we want this to work, we need to like doing it!

The thought of coming home from work and changing into workout clothes, then putting that same exercise tape in, is enough to make anyone yawn, including me. I have the worst motivation when it comes to exercises, especially in the winter months, but not any more. I found dance DVD's in bins during the summer months, on sale, but there are also great online sites for these at great prices. Try Amazon, Ebay or discount stores.  This has got to be the best and most fun way to lose weight.

The Trick to Losing Weight

The trick here, is to invest in a lot of them, for variety, and the best way to make them work for you, is to be able to kick off your shoes and just start dancing away, without having to change into anything else (unless you want to). For me, I needed something I could shove in the machine, and just start moving. I may loosen a belt or something, but if I had to go and change, then this exercise was not likely going to happen.

Share some with friends.  Each of you buy a few dance videos, but make sure they are fast dancing with lots of stretching.  The beat will keep you moving.  Plus getting to learn something new will use different muscles and you will get a good workout.  Maybe it is line dancing one day, and something more exotic the next day!  This is a simple way to lose weight.

All it takes is doing something you enjoy, before you know it 30 minutes has gone by, and you have danced yourself around the room. Most of these videos have different length dances, and you can just pickup and end where ever you want.

There is the upbeat music, and easy steps. Make sure you get ones that are not for advanced to begin with. Start with ones with upbeat music and simple steps and just start dancing. Even if you make a mistake, who cares!.. as long as you are moving.  Make this your special time, or get the kids involved, dancing can be a fun way to stay fit, as well as weight loss.

Use Dance Videos to Lose Weight

Try a different DVD each day, to exercise different muscle groups. This is a great way to get lean and lose weight, especially during those winter months, when the urge to curl up on the couch with a bag of chips is hard to resist!

To lose one pound, you need to use up 3500 calories a week.  That is 500 a day.  Cut back on some snacks and try and find 300 calories in your day, and then dance off the other 200.  Keep this up and you will have found a fun way to lose weight and feel good.

I think I have about 20 dance DVD's now, and don't get bored of any of them. Dancing is good exercise, and will help with your weight loss goals. It gets your heart rate up, and makes you feel good afterwards. So skip the repetitions and move your body around the room, even when doing housework and before you know it, you will be losing weight.!

I definitely think dance videos, etc. tend to get a bad rap. I've tried kickboxing workouts, among other things, and found them to be quite effective!
