A Guide To Las Vegas: MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Overview

The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino is nestled on the south end of the Las Vegas strip and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The MGM Grand Hotel is currently the largest hotel in the United States and the third largest in the world, it is owned by MGM Resorts International and plays host to a number of exciting attractions right on the site.

The first hotel on the site was built in 1975 in the form of ‘The Marina Hotel’, this hotel is still in place and the MGM Grand serves as an expansion to it. The hotel originally had an amusement park attached to the back of the building, but due to it being uneconomical to run it was closed down in 2001, it has since been redeveloped into a luxury resort.

There are number of rooms in the MGM Grand suited to every single budget. One of the more popular rooms in the buildings is the West Wing King size room ideal for use of by a couple. The top single room covers an area of almost 446 square feet and is called the Grand King, this is a favourite amongst those that want to have a fantastic time in Las Vegas whilst having a stunning room to kick back into in the evening.

In addition to the standard rooms there are a number of suites in the building. The largest of these being the Marquee Suite which has an area of over 1,000 square feet. Each of the suites offer fantastic views over the city of Las Vegas and they are beautifully decorated, they may escape the budgets of some people but if you can afford them then you will have a delightful time staying in the MGM Grand.

One of the most extravagant stays in the MGM Grand can be found in the luxurious skyloft suites located on the top two floors of the building. From up here you can enjoy unrivalled customer service with your own personal concierge. Of an evening you can also head out onto your balcony to enjoy fantastic views over the Las Vegas strip.

The hotel acts as a mini-mall and there are a number of eateries

located within the building covering all budgets. This ranges from the four fine dining restaurants to some specialist dining restaurants that are perfect for feeding your family.  If you are looking for the more casual dining experience you can pay a visit to the Rainforest Café or have some room service delivered direct to your door. There are also a number of quick eateries for a takeaway before you head to one of the number of entertainments that you have at your disposal.

MGM Grand Lion Habitat

The major source of entertainment within the hotel is of course the Casino where a load of money is staked every single day. Away from the gambling you can find a number of famous Las Vegas shows being performed every day including the Cirque de Soleil show KA. You will also find some entertainment at the MGM Grand Lion Habitat right inside the casion. To relax there is a salon as well as a spa and health club.

With the amount on offer in the MGM Grand you wouldn’t even need to leave the hotel to have the most perfect vacation ever. Although of course it is advisable. There is just so much to do all under one roof, it acts as its own mini city and it is clear why people return here time and time again despite the cost.
