Earrings really do make the best gift. Women are always wearing earrings and the right set will be something special that she can wear to remind her of you. The majority of earrings will suit almost any outfit and with a range of types, sizes and prices you will be able to find a set of earrings that will suit your taste and budget.

In this article, I will go through each of the different types of earrings that you can buy. Hopefully, this will provide you with some useful information so that you can be more confident when it comes to buying earrings. Remember that you should have some idea about the style and look the person you are buying the earrings for will like.

Stud

A stud earring is a small round gemstone. They are very popular and tend to be the smallest of all the earrings that you can buy. They are even popular with males, with mens diamond earrings making a bit of a comeback in the fashion stakes. Due to their small size, stud earrings are easy to wear and go with formal dresses to casual wear.

Hoops

Hoop earrings have a feminine look. They are round in appearance and you can buy hoops that are small or go down from the ear to the shoulder. To add some bling, go with a pair with diamonds. Hoops are made from various precious metals including yellow gold, white gold and sterling silver.

Drops

Drops hang from the ear and usually have a precious gem dangling. They are typically elegant and best used for formal wear. Some more causal drops have charms hanging from the ear.

Chandelier

Chandelier earrings have been growing in popularity in recent times. These types of earrings have multi-level branches that hang downwards, giving them the look of a chandelier. Some of the more popular chandeliers include diamond cluster earrings.

Buying Online

The best place to buy a pair of earrings at a cheap price is online. However, the disadvantage is that you can't see the earrings in person. This isn't usually a problem if you know what earrings your lady will like and you purchase from a reputable website. If you aren't sure that you have bought a genuine set of earrings, you can take them to a jeweller to examine. Many websites offer a money back guarantee and if you have any problem earrings valued early enough you can usually receive your money back if there is any issues.
