How to make healthy chocolate mousse, yes with avocado!

Its soooo simple...

This recipe is for anyone who wants to make good choices even when it comes to making desserts.

   The recipe is designed to be very healthy even though it tastes just like conventional chocolate mousse. The reason behind this is down to the fact that all the ingredients are natural non processed foods. The importance of a balanced and proper diet cannot be stressed enough especially with the ever increasing waistlines of modern society. We need to understand that in order to regain control of what we put inside our bodies we must educate ourselves to understand the types of foods we are eating and what effects they have upon us. Highly processed "food like" substances are becoming more and more common place and disease is going up with it. Products like high fructose corn syrup, chemical sweeteners like Aspartame, GMO products and the huge increase in soy in out foods all contribute to poor body function and hence weight gain and illness.

So this recipe involves healthy natural products that will do more good than harm.

Avocados for example are a great source of fibre, good fats and vitamins A, C, E, K and B6 and they have a high energy content. Raw honey is a great way to get natural sugars anf is also great for seasonal allergies like hay fever. Cocao power is the raw, unprocessed and unsweetened powder that's from the Cocao bean and also has many health benefits. Coconut oil is also a great food consisting mainly of saturated fat......wait for it, not bad fat however! MCT or Medium Chain Triglycerides form most of the fat content which has been proven to be very beneficial in our bodies, helping to fight many diseases. 

To make the mousse you will need a food processor or a blender/mixer.

Ingredients:

  • 3 Avocados (ripe and organic if possible)
  • 3rd of a cup of Honey (raw)
  • 4 Tablespoons of Cocao powder
  • 1 Teaspoon on Coconut oil

 How to Prepare Healthy Chocolate Mousse

Peel off skin of avocado and put in a mixing bowl, add all ingredients and mix until fully blended, you might want to take time over this as the avocado takes a while to mix fully. 

Once mixed, serve into dessert bowls and set in the fridge for an hour before serving. Add some fruit to dress if you wish.
