A Holistic Approach to Acne Prevention
Acne Vulgairs is a skin condition that affects around 90% of Americans. The health and wellness industry has made a nice fortune trying to sell us the next great acne treatment. Some of us have tried every over the counter remedy, and even prescription medicines seem to do little for our acne.
When acne vulgaris is stubborn then it is time to try a different approach. Most medications and treatments work to eliminate the causes of acne on the surface but we need a treatment that will help us to rid our bodies of its internal toxins. This is where the holistic approach comes into play.
Every day our bodies collect toxins from our unhealthy lifestyles. Eating a cheeseburger fries, and drinking a 32 oz. soda, even if done in moderation, over time will build up toxins in our body. We consume so many toxins from the processed foods that our body doesn't have a chance to get rid of the junk we ate last week.
I am not saying we should stop eating great tasting foods altogether but I am recommending going on a sort of fast to help our body's properly regain its balance. In this fast we should only consume foods high in fiber and drink 6 glasses of water no sugar, no sodas, no pizza, and no smoking.
Foods that we can eat are apples, strawberries, bran flakes, brown rice and whole wheat spaghetti. If you get tired of drinking nothing but water you can also drink a glass of green tea.
Follow this plan for a week and you will be amazed at how much your acne has been reduced. To maintain this balance you really only need to do it once a year but it can be repeat as necessary. Not only will this help your skin look healthier but your mind will be clearer and you will have more energy throughout the day. This treatment is not only for those that a traditional acne remedy won't work for but it is also for everyone that wants to have healthier looking skin too.
