a.)Begin your research to determine the needs of your customers (Market Research).
b.)understand your competitions advantages and your strengths and weaknesses (Market Strategy).
c.) Find a specific niche so you know exactly the specific markets you will focus on (Target Marketing).
d.) Determine how to satisfy the needs of your customer (Marketing Mix).
Make sure that you have clearly outlined visions and goals. It is important for you to have long term and short term goals for your business. If you do not have these, then you do not have anything to guide you in your business. You must know where you want your business to be in a year's time or in two years' time. Write down your goals, print them out and follow them. You must also assign a timeframe to your goals and make sure that you apply the necessary effort to achieve your goals within the timeframe you planned.
Having your own business is great. It offers you the option to work at home, or anywhere you choose, and within your hours of operation. You are also have the sole responsibility to set your own targets to achieve. You are the boss. You do not have to be stuck in 'rat-race' and you do not have to put up with a demanding boss and co-workers. You do, however, need to act like a business and set a structure that you can follow to success.
