A Product Comparison of The Flotec and Wayne Submersible Well Pump

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Submersible well pumps, while made to last, will eventually need to be replaced at some point. They may wear out, not pump as fast as they used to or just stop working. Flotec and Wayne offer comparable pumps at competitive prices.

Flotec has a one horsepower submersible well pump that will move 600 gallons of water a minute. Requiring a 230V power supply, this pump needs a separate control box to operate. If the pump you are replacing has the same power needs, all the wiring should be in place already.

The Flotec pump operates in a well that is up to 400 feet deep with diameter of as little as four inches. This is one of the most economical models on the market. With a float feature built in, it will never sink into the dirt at the bottom of the well, thereby avoiding clogging.

Wayne, another leader in submersible well pump manufacturing, offers a one horsepower, 230V model that will pump the same amount of water as the Flotec. The Wayne pump however is designed for shallow well use and will not work well at the same depths as the Flotec. Operating depth for the Wayne pump is between twenty feet up to one hundred and seventy five feet.

Both of these pumps will move roughly the same amount of water per hour, which is more than your family should need on a daily basis. Making a choice really depends on the depth of your well. The well digging company can let you how deep your well is and which pump you should choose for your use.

They are both constructed of stainless steel for long use under water. Completely sealed, there is virtually no chance for a leak to cause damage to the interior components. Cost however shows a marked difference, the Wayne being nearly two hundred dollars cheaper than the Flotec.
