Ever heard the term "lingerie party"? Well if you haven't heard it before and hearing it for the first time then I'm sure that you are finding it rather interesting (or even enticing) and is probably very keen to know more about exactly what is meant by a lingerie party.

Well, lingerie parties are primarily of two types and as may be easily guessed both of them involve bevys of young women in their bare nessecities, albiet for slightly different reasons. Lets take a look at the different types of lingerie parties:

Lingerie parties in their original form were introduced as a business platform to market lingerie from a platform were people will have a lot of fun while shopping, almost like a charity banquet but in general lacking the more noble and sacrificial sentiments of the occasion. It is often hosted in lingerie stores or chic boutiques and potential buyers are invited to the event. A hostess and/or a lingerie model is available at hand to showcase the line of products available at the store. Some times you might even be allowed to try on a particular lingerie before buying it.

However, with the increasing popularity of lingerie parties, it is even being organized in people's homes often with the help of a lingerie store or brand.

During these parties, guests (or potential buyers) are not forced to come in their lingerie but the rule may vary from party to party. Further, these parties are often open to men and couples albeit their participation is a lot restricted for obvious reasons.

Lingerie Parties for Fun

Of late, lingerie parties are being organized just for the risqué fun of it and is often being used to substitute for some other risqué events like bachelorette parties, bridal showers or Valentines Day parties. If you have bold group of friends, then you can even transform your ordinary birthday party into a lingerie party. Or you can organize a lingerie party as an independent event just for the fun of it. Often these parties also allow night wear and morning-after clothing such as loose shirts and pajamas. Quite often entries to these parties are restricted to women only.

Tips for Organizing a Lingerie Party

Theme parties are often more fun than ordinary parties-- this applies for just about any party including lingerie parties. So try to choose an interesting theme for your lingerie party. A few ideas include bridal lingerie, V-Day lingerie, Christmas etc.
Stick to your theme while decorating and preparing for the lingerie party.
Arrange a few interesting events and games along with small prizes. Perhaps a beauty contest?
Above all try to be elegant without being overly risqué or vulgar.
Get a lingerie party organizer (there are quite a few of these around) to help you out. This way your lingerie party is sure to be a hit, even though you are quite likely to overshoot your budget!
