Fish Oil Benefits For Hair

By Edited Jun 24, 2015 0 0

We know how fish oil benefits your brain and immune system, fish oil also does wonders for hair growth and stimulation. I used so many hair creams, gels and pomades to achieve hair growth and while some of these products work, they’re not as good as fish oil. If your hair looks tired and frizzy quite often, it’s probably because your hair is lacking in Omega 3 fatty acids, which can be found in the oil.

When you take daily fish oil supplements, your hair follicles strengthen and gradually your hair will grow. For those with naturally coarse or dry hair like me, you’ll especially need the oil because the Omega 3 adds moisture to your hair follicles and works as a great supplement to your shampoo and conditioner. It would be even better if you found a conditioner enriched with fish oil and vitamins E and A, which are also good for hair growth.

Baldness can ruin confidence in your physical appearance and if you’re tired of using hair loss treatments that don’t do enough for hair growth, you should use these oil supplements because this helps you regain the hair growth. Some hair loss treatments for baldness are enriched with the oil so try to find these.

Your dermatologist can give you some tips on using fish oil as a way to improve your hair’s health. He may also recommend certain brands of fish oil for you to use on a daily basis. Ask the dermatologist how long it will take before you start to see the results from the fish oil. You can also read some health articles on the benefits of fish oil for hair.

Fish oil is also beneficial for those with very bad dandruff. I struggled with flakes in my hair despite the many deep conditioning treatments I received but when I included the oil supplements in my hair treatment, I noticed that the dandruff went away completely. And my two cousins have bad dandruff so I recommended that they use fish oil supplements.

You don’t always have to use fish oil supplements in order to make your healthy because you can get the benefits of fish oil by eating fatty fish such as tuna, salmon, halibut and mackerel. Instead of eating spaghetti with meatballs, substitute the beef with tuna. Another idea is to make salmon salad with tomatoes and green beans with lemon vinaigrette.

Some good places to purchase fish oil supplements include your drugstore, natural health stores and online retailers. When you buy the supplements online, research the retailers because some of them don’t sell authentic fish oil products. Also look out for bargains because fish oil supplements can be pricey.

EPA Fish Oil

Fish oil has been proven through medical research to treat and prevent illnesses of all types, and the best thing about fish oil is that it’s readily available and affordable. Traditional prescription drugs are often costly and sometimes cause painful side effects but when you use fish oil, you’ll see better health within weeks. The two main ingredients in fish oil are DHA and EPA, but there is a certain type of fish oil supplement that has only EPA or at least a large amount of EPA in it rather than DHA.

EPA fish oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and you can take it as a supplement or eat it in the form of fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, trout and mackerel. EPA fish oil helps improve the memory, builds a better cardiovascular system, assists in a safe pregnancy, relieves depression, and even helps with loss. EPA fish oil also helps with arthritis pain so if you’re tired of using pain killers, you should switch to EPA oil.

When you purchase the version of this  oil, you should look for supplements made from fish oil that was molecularly distilled. This means that the toxins were separated from the fish oil so that you’ll get a pure product. However, you want to keep in mind that it will be difficult to find a totally pure oil supplement but you want fish oil supplements that have as many toxins out of them as possible. You should also choose fish oil supplements that are from trusted brands.

If you’re going shopping for groceries, make sure you buy fish that’s rich in Omega 3 fatty acids because this is one of the best ways to get your intake of EPA fish oil. Tuna, halibut, salmon and trout should be purchased on a weekly basis but these days fish is expensive to buy. Here are some ways to buy fish cheaply. Asian supermarkets have become popular due to their low prices and wide abundance of fish. These supermarkets often have discounts on fish so this is a good place to buy inexpensive fish. Sometimes the brand-name supermarkets carry discounts on fish that’s native to the state you live in so this is another option. Another idea is to visit local fish markets because you can a few pounds of fatty fish at low prices.

Children with learning disabilities and behavioral problems are often given prescription drugs at above normal dosages, which could cause negative side effects. When you give children fish oil supplements at a normal dosage, you’re reducing the symptoms of their behavioral disorders and recent studies have shown that children who take these supplements do well in school.

When you eat fish on a regular basis, you’re improving your cardiovascular health, particularly fish that is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids. Fish with Omega 3 fatty acids replace unhealthy saturated fat that is found in most fast food, boxed processed foods and junk foods.  The Omega 3 fatty acids lower your cholesterol and blood pressure and this is good news for those with diabetes.  Fish with Omega 3 fatty acids also reduces blood clots and damage to your arteries and heart.

If you’re lacking in vitamin B, you’ll need to eat more fishies because the vitamin B in fish produce energy in your body to keep you strong throughout the day. Fish has vitamin D that improves bone health and some of the minerals found in fish include iron, zinc and potassium.

For those who deal with severe joint pain, you’ll want to incorporate fish into your diet because fish has anti-inflammatory issues which can relieve the joint pain. Senior citizens who have arthritis may decide to eat fish two or three pieces every few weeks and you’ll feel better afterwards. If you have severe arthritis fish may not be the best choice.

Fish is fuel for your brain according to medical researchers.  In a recent study young men who consumed fish a few times a week scored higher on the IQ test than those who didn’t consume fish. Eating fish also decreases dementia fish.

With all of these health benefits of eating fish, you want to incorporate it into your diet but you’re not able to afford it during times. One way to get affordable fish is to get discounts from local supermarkets and another place is local Farmers Market.
