About Puerto Vallarta

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Pristine white sand beaches, glowing pink sunsets, and crystal clear waters draw thousands to Puerto Vallarta every year. The coastal town first drew the eye of vacationers in the 1800s, and when it became the background for The Night of the Iguana ¸ a movie by John Huston, it was forever sealed in the mind of the public as a resort destination. What exactly is it about Puerto Vallarta that makes it so appealing?

The Culture

While Puerto Vallarta is a resort destination, it is full of native Mexican culture. Guests can stroll down the historic downtown area, take a day trip to a nearby village like San Sebastian or Sayulita, or hear the sounds of street bands playing authentic Mexican music. True Mexican cuisine is found all around town, from fine restaurants to street venders, making this town a diner's paradise. Visitors can find authentic Mexican art and handicrafts for sale in many areas of the town.

The Sports

If you prefer an active getaway, you will find plenty of sporting activities to keep you buys on Puerto Vallarta. Spend some time swimming or fishing off the coastline, or grab your clubs and visit one of the seven award winning golf courses. A zipline tour is always thrilling, and nature lovers can swim with the dolphins at the Nuevo Vallarta Dolphin Center. Scuba diving, hiking, biking, and horseback riding tours can all be found in Puerto Vallarta as well.

The Views

Puerto Vallarta would not have developed into a resort destination if it were not naturally beautiful, and even with all of the tourists and resorts that have come to the region, it still is. Spend some time watching the sunset over the beach, or hike into the mountains to get a birds-eye view of the coastline. You will definitely need your camera for a Puerto Vallarta vacation, so be sure to pack it, along with some extra batteries!
