They are often affixed permanently to one's house and are generally quite easy to for the owner to operate, whether from outside or inside. They can also come with a lock, which requires a key to open, keeping the areas they enclose not just safe from external weather damage but also from damage caused by people, such as theft. Accordion window shutters are not meant to be decorative and certainly not known for their beauty or elegance, but the buyer does have a little bit of freedom in choosing the appearance of the shutters. That freedom primarily comes from the choice of colors, which, to be fair, is not a huge or enticing selection. The colors accordion shutters are often found in are white, an off white, a bit darker tan color, and a dark brown. While this is not a great selection, having that little bit of freedom of choice can still be nice, and it is important to keep in mind that the appearance of the shutters is the least important part.
