Acne Facials

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

Facial treatments are often recommended to resolve acne problems. People who are struggling with acne can choose from professional or home acne facials. In this article I will discuss the two treatments.

Estheticians will usually perform a professional acne facial treatment, especially if it's just a mild acne problem. An esthetician starts the facial procedure by ensuring that the face is clean and tends to incorporate facial massage, steam baths and masks in the procedure. Various products are also used to reduce surface oil, to remove dead skin, or to hydrate the skin. Meanwhile, a dermatologist should be consulted if you are suffering from moderate to severe acne, and have been unable to get the acne under control. The dermatologist might prescribe medications designed to treat acne or prescribe medicated skin creams.

The other treatment, which is an at home acne treatment, involves the use of masks such as salt, baking soda, yogurt and egg white and other home remedies for acne. Ways of preparing these masks are also offered.

Baking soda is popular as a natural ingredient for removing toxins from skin. This mask is guaranteed to remove dirt and excess oil from the face, which are known as primary contributors to acne development. Creating a baking soda paste needs the mixture of baking soda and drops of water, then dabbing it on one's face and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. Rinse the paste from the face with cold water.

A salt paste needs a mixture of water and five tablespoons salt. Leave the paste on for about half an hour. Preparing a yogurt paste requires a teaspoon of honey, which should be melted and natural yogurt, and will be dabbed on the area affected by acne. This paste should be applied to the face and left on for at least 10 to 20 minutes, then taken off through the use of a soft tissue.

Another mask uses whipped egg white. To prepare this facial, one should separate the yolk from the egg white. Then, the egg white should be whipped until it will become a thick and frothy, as if you are making a meringue. Once the egg white is thickened, this paste will then be put on the acne spot and left for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Yet another remedy from the kitchen is the oatmeal mask. To make this safe and gentle mask, add enough water to oatmeal to make a paste. Gently spread the oatmeal paste onto your face and leave on until the mask dries, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Just remember that these home acne facial recipes should be done on a regular basis to achieve the desired outcome. Rest assured that these treatments can really help address one's acne problems, but only if done consistently.
