Addressing Computer Startup Problems
Computer startup problems are one of the most annoying and widely experienced problems that PC users encounter. Many of the startup issues have to do with malfunctions that occur during the shutting down process or installation process. Some of the problems are the fault of software glitches or even viruses. Often other programs which become problematic must be dealt with individually to make sure they don't affect the rest of the computer and to do this you often have to boot up your computer in safe mode.
Safe mode is a form of your PCs operating system that runs on limited resources and without starting up many auto run background programs. Often it is one of these programs that causes computer startup problems and when they are not run the computer boots just fine. From safe mode various utilities can be run to identify and solve computer program or systemic problems.
To boot your computer from safe mode you will have to press a special key or combination of keys on one of the first boot screens you see. These screens are the same screens that you might use to enter bios or change system configurations. Only after these screens appear does your operating system begin booting.
If you can identify how to enter safe mode you should be able to navigate your PC and run the necessary tools needed to resolve computer startup problems. Sometimes a reinstallation of a program is needed and sometimes an unwanted program needs to be removed. Whatever the case computer startup problems are very case specific, situational, and sometimes go undiagnosed.
Using some trial and error may be required to resolve your boot up issues. You may find that simply booting in safe mode and then restarting with a clean shut down is all that is needed. Addressing thee common problems can be confusing and frustrating but you will find that unless something significant was done to damage the computer or a necessary hardware component has failed, resolving computer startup problems can be a simple fix for even the novice user.
Of course if simplistic measures are taken and your computer startup issues remain than you may need to inquire a professional about your specific situation. Sometimes problems such as these are simply out of the expertise of the lay-person. Only a professional can give case specific advice for these problematic machines. Hopefully this is not the case however as your garden variety computer startup problems are usually very easy to fix yourself.
