Agricultural Trade Shows

Trade shows or exhibitions relating to agriculture are periodically presented in most countries that provide high levels of commercial dealings in farming, agriculture, forestry or land husbandry. The trade shows are organized so that farmers, growers and manufacturers can showcase their products to the best advantage and to the highest number of potential customers. Usually agricultural trade shows are set during the spring or summer months which allows for more farmed produce for the grower and younger livestock for the farmer. As they are usually held outdoors the weather can be better as well. These trade shows are organized primarily for the benefit of the farmer to promote and sell his livestock and the grower to sell his produce but allied to this is the trade show marketing of some ancillary products to the trade. Manufacturers of farm machinery and chemical suppliers will always have trade show exhibits and banner stands at an agricultural trade show so on offer will be products as small as a hand trowel up to tractors and combine harvester's, which indicates the importance of these shows with regards to sales and marketing. As well as the serious business of selling, and there will be plenty of that on the part of the machinery manufacturers who will be providing hand outs and brochures to all and sundry, there are competitions whereby farmers will try to win awards for best sheep or bull or whatever farm livestock they wish to present. These competitions can become quite serious with growers trying to win an award for the best leek or cabbage or their wives trying to win with the best flower arrangement or the best pickles and jam. These latter additions make it more interesting for the layman who also enjoys sheepdog displays which are an integral part of any agricultural trade show. Some larger shows can see tens of thousands visit on any one day.
