Album Scrapbooking

By | Feb 25, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Album scrapbooking is the most common theme in scrapbooking. This theme involves using photos just like in photo albums. The first thing you need to consider when album scrapbooking is the album itself. You can find two sizes in the market – the 12 inches by 12 inches size or the 8.5 inches by 11 inches size. For a family album scrapbook, most regular scrappers will suggest you opt for the 12" x 12" one. This offers enough space for all the photos and captions for the family members. However, if you are looking to give an album scrapbook as a gift or use it personally, you could opt for a smaller album.

You will also find post-bound ones - these albums have a white or black cardstock page that is covered with sheet protectors. Three posts bind the album together allowing you to add or remove pages as you wish. When album scrapbooking, these kind of albums come in handy as you can pull the cardstock out of the protector or slide in pages where you have patterned paper.

Another kind of album you could look for are the strap hinge kinds. These have flexible straps made of plastic in the cover of the album and these run through loops in each page. With a D-ring binder, you can easily add, remove or switch pages. While with a D-ring binder your pages lie flat, a 3-ring binder can let you add numerous pages.

Album scrapbooking is easier once you have decided on the album. The next thing to consider when album scrapbooking is the space and the supplies you will require. You can opt for stickers available in all themes, colors, designs and sizes that are inexpensive and fun. You may also want to check tags for decorating, punch outs or cut outs to be used as tags, letters and even laser lace borders you could decorate a page with. Perforated paper embellishments can be used anywhere on your scrapbook.

When album scrapbooking, there is no end to the tools you could use for decoration, like the punches in various shapes and sizes. Embellishments can really liven album scrapbooking – choose from buttons, fancy yarns and fibers, threads, beads, fabric roses, metal accents, craft wire. All of these are safe while album scrapbooking and add a lot of drama and detail. How about some chalk sets in different hues and highlighters for each page? You can look for eyelets that allow you to attach vellum to paper or to decorate a photo mat or making a border; get them in any color, size or shape you fancy! You could even use rubber stamps when album scrapbooking; paper charms that come embossed or even templates for unique embellishments.

Album scrapbooking can be so much fun with all the tools, embellishments and creativity. Go ahead and get involved in album scrapbooking today and delight your family members!
