All About Poptropica

Poptropica is a very exciting and happy game for children. It features many different missions on "islands" that Poptropica players explore on amazing adventures. Each of the different islands has a individual plot and theme and certain things that must be done. Generally you need to do them in order like a classic adventure game. Poptropica is cartoony and fun to play. There are a lot of special hidden items and secrets in the game. Here is a brief overview of Poptropica to give you and idea of what you can do in Poptropica.

The Islands

You can adventure on nine islands in Poptropica, with a tenth one planned for later in 2009. The newest island, which became available in June is named Astro-Knights. The others are:

  • Early Poptropica
  • Sharktooth
  • 24 Carrot
  • Time Tangled
  • Super Power
  • Spy
  • Nabooti
  • Big Nate

Try any island adventure at any time, but you might want to start with one of the easier islands, like Early Poptropica to get a feel for how to play.

Playing the Game

You can be a boy or a girl and you can customize the appearance prior to starting the game. You can start with a new player each time or register with an account to save your character as a returning player. The game is basically a scroller. You begin each island by arriving and then have to talk to characters that you come across to figure out what you need to do. Then you progress along the mission until you have completed all the tasks you need to finish. Poptropica combines puzzle-solving and adventure with basic arcade skills like running, jumping and playing with things in the world. A lot of the game includes jumping around things in the way or climbing up buildings to find secret spots. There are many Poptropica cheats available all over the internet to help you find these secret spots.

Other Players

There are spots on many of the Poptropica islands you can play contests against other players. Winning a lot of mini-games increases your battle ranking. You can also chat with other players using built-in questions from a menu.
