Alternative Methods to Relieve Migraines

By Edited Oct 27, 2013 0 0

Many people suffer from migraines, stress headaches and cluster headaches and I happen to be one of them.

I can not take normal over the counter medication like aspirin, Tylenol or Ibuprofin because of other conditions I have and other medications I take so I found some other ways to relieve the headaches.

These remedies really do work for me and friends of mine and might work for you too.

The first one is laying down in a dark cool room with a lukewarm cloth over your eyes and forehead. Trying to clear your brain of all thoughts and laying still for 30 minutes.

The second one is using pressure points. To do this, you will need an old clothes pin (you do know what those are right?). Anyway place the clothes pin as tight as you can stand on your left hand under your pinky finger and above your wrist in the fleshy part. In order for this to work, REMEMBER it has to be tight, leave it on for an hour or more.

The third technique is slightly odd but works. In an upright sitting position place your feet in a hot pan of water; as hot as you can stand. While your feet are in the hot water, simultaneously place something freezing cold around your neck. Try to relax and do this for roughly 20 minutes.

Your headache/migraine should go away after using at least one of these techniques. Let us how they worked for you! Good luck!
