American Idol Hollywood Week

American Idol is back for yet another season of fun and excitement. February marks the ending of the American Idol auditions and the beginning of Hollywood Week where all those hopefuls who were graciously awarded golden tickets had the opportunity to shine.

The preverbal cream rises to the top makes perfect sense here as everyone making it to Hollywood is pretty fantastic. Many have very different styles and many are really only one horse wonders who shine at one or two songs but flounder with anything else.

The fun part of the show is Hollywood week of curse because we get to see which Idol hopefuls do well and which one's sputter and fail. Interestingly we all are already swayed in our opinions of the Idol contestants because we've seen many of them in the American idol audition episodes in January. Some of us have even started picking our favorites already. Obviously this does not bode well for those that get no air time until they make the top twenty and the public gets to vote on them.

American Idol Hopefuls

Some other contestants have an even greater advantage. Contestants like Idol's Angela Martin who made it to Hollywood week in each of the past two seasons and has done so again this year. Angela not only is an amazing vocalist but she also has an amazing and troubled story that even continues to unfold even as season nine of American idol marches on.

Angela Martin, and the many other contestants like her, who has a story to tell and a history of air time stacked on top of an amazing set of pipes and a beautiful smile and figure will be hard to beat. The commercial potential of such a contestant is massive and something to be respected.

So who is your favorite American idol contestant this season? For many this is still undecided but as America has shown in the previous eight years we are all looking forward to finding out who has what it takes and who cracks under pressure. We want to know who will capture the heart and soul of America for 2010 and we want to connect with another real life person with all the struggles of living day to day and then suddenly making it big.

American Idol lets us dream and feel some of the triumph that the contestants experience and it lets us understand a little more about the artists these people become as their careers blossom. American Idol is back and it will be fun watching just which Idol contestant matures and makes it to the very end.
